Wes Brown joins Paul Robinson in retiring.. i'm sure we couldn't care less, but can the FA create any more of a farce if they tried?
Surely the players should get notified ahead of the squad being announced!?

To be fair, who would honestly want to the way fans/media get on their back.

Admittedly the world cup was simply shockingly bad, but surely the fear of failure in England isn't worth it?

Not really a problem though. Losing Heskey, Carragher, Robinson and Brown isn''t exactly catastrophic. Now the young blood can come through without having to fight through pointless muck like the retirees. Brilliant news if you ask me

It will be a sad day for football when Carlton Palmer retires from international football. Until then I will live in hope he is returned to his rightful position of bossing the England midfield.

Right here, right now
Wes Brown retiring from international football is like Maradona saying he won't play for Napoli again!

I'll never see how that's Robinson's fault... total freak goal

A player under no real pressure goes to kick a slow moving ball and he misses, fair enough there was a 'bobble', but was pretty daft to take such a wild swipe at it.

Fact is, playing for your country used to be seen as an honour. Now its just an inconvenience. Club managers make no bones of the fact they consider it superflous, they'd rather their players were not involved as of course it detracts from their preperations for the all-singing, all-dancing "Best League in the World". Just wait for our underperforming "world class players" to start falling back on the old burnout excuse after those glorious 4 games in the summer.

The Premier League has successfully murdered the England team, and this is just another symptom.
