My impression was that he thought he only had to turn up. We were going to play so much better in the replay when he was available for selection again. :dunce:

Problem here is - though you need to be of a certain age so that you can remember the God that was Steve Foster - you might just be old enough to be suffering from some form of senility as well.

;)

Why not. You have made a comment, why can't you clarify it?

Does it need clarification? Sorry but I'm not going to oblige. :p

OK. Let me help you out.

We had played out of our skins in the first game and should have won it in the last minute.
The pitch conditions helped us in the fisrt game.
We lost Ramsey for the replay and Man U were never going to take us so lightly in the replay.
Oh, and Man U were probably one of the best teams in the country at the time and we were the worst in the top division.
All this because Steve Foster had a big head:lolol:

I said there were other contributing factors, one of the biggest being Chris Ramsey's injury.

In all seriousness, to blame Foster is a bit silly. How many times do you see an underdog scrape a draw in a cup game than then get hammered in the follow up.

At least we were there. Just think how supporters of teams like Lincoln and Rochdale feel...they are never gonna get that feeling of winning an FA Cup Semi-Final!

We only got to Wembley because of Fosters performance at Highbury. He was immense, especially with his scissors kick from underneath our own goal line.

And on the subject of the replay.

Steve Foster got the worst abuse all through the game I have ever heard in a cup final.
The Man U fans taunted him the whole game with " Steve Foster what a difference you have made".

Not once did I see him give them any hand signals or run up and call them c*nts like our Mr El Abd.

Please do not compare these two players, it is an insult.

When we went back in 91 (I think it was) they still sang that to him. Did he cry and whinge to the Argus - no he got on with it and played a blinder against some young kid called Giggs.

Whinging to the Argus, now thats another story.
I feel the club should take more responsibility for this and not allow them to talk to the press.
I could not believe a couple of weeks ago Tommy Fraser telling the fans that they must make more noise and get behind the players.
This from a kid in his first season who has completed a minimal amount of games, who got sent off and let the team down for stamping on another player.
Who then throws a wobbly with management because he was not in the side.
All this I feel make's them feel more important than they really are.
Take a leaf out of Fergie's book Wilkins, no young player is allowed to talk to the press without his knowledge.

I stood by the barrier to watch the players at the end. I didn't see any player walk away but they stayed in a group walking round except for Coxy who did go right across the track to speak to someone.

Mountains out of molehills again?

Well you quite clearly were not watching properly then Yorkie. If you check all of my posts on here you will see that I do not go against players and always get behind the team but what I said in the first post is not as you say it a mountain out of a molehill. If Dean had not shouted at him he would have just walked off and even when he was shouted at not only did he still try to walk off at first he was the furthest away from the fans at all times. He is just being a petulant twerp. He talks about passion but many of us have supported the club all our lives and will never be replaced whereas players will be off at some stage and most will probably never come to see the Albion again.
