In such a litigatious country, wonder what other car manufacturers think of this desperate pr stunt? Aren’t quite a lot of Tesla’s made outside of the U.S?
Isn't this going to negatively affect the sales of Teslas? I don't know if my impression is correct or not, but I thought that Trump's base were blue-collar Americans that mostly don't have the money to buy a Tesla, and those that do are more likely to buy a 4-litre pick-up truck.

What I do like about this though is that it indicates that the boycott is genuinely harming Musk.

Let’s hope so. Would imagine with Trumps attitude toward the environment that a lot of his supporters would have to go through some pretty demanding mental gymnastics to buy a Tesla..still moral flip floppery is what he excels at, so who bloody knows!

He estimated wealth is 319 billion, really really affecting him ?
He ain't gonna be shopping in Poundland on London Road anytime soon.
His concern is that if Tesla can be targeted so can his other companies.
Starlink will be under attack as countries will wish to move away from a solution that seems to be removed at a drop of a hat.
SpaceX seems to be a ‘up market’ fireworks display at the moment and X is f***ed.
I genuinely believe his days are numbered as not only has he pissed the general populace but also those in government and GOP. …

I like the people. We only seemed to meet Yanks who couldn’t stand him.
Same, just came back from the states and all that we met were fine.
My wife bought something there and walking down the street the paper bag split. A very nice lady came up to her and gave her a plastic bag to replace the split bag and said “please take it, I want you to know there are some decent Americans”.
Having said that, you go to the Caribbean and they seem to export the loud obnoxious ones out there.

To be sure, Musk couldn't be poor if he tried. But, what he lives for now is clearly not money. It's prestige, power and indulging his twisted fantasies. And these are all vulnerable, especially if he becomes a laughing stock.

I liked nearly all the Americans I both met and worked with over there (NY State).
I grew up in Cornwall, Ontario, across the bridge from Malone, Massena, etc. in Northern NY. That's trailer park country, irredeemable rednecks.

He tried to sue companies who stopped advertising on X. The value of X has plummeted.

His ego is quite fragile. I think he hates ridicule.

Not sure about that. He's clearly 'in' with Trump and, until that relationship falls apart (and it will) he won't be going anywhere. And even then, now he's got a foot in the door, he probably wouldn't go quietly.

He, like Trump, has created a cult and also isn't afraid to trot out BS at every turn (blaming Ukraine for trying to bring down Twitter, for one example). But his supporters/followers don't care one bit. I think he'll be part of the furniture for a while.

Brighton factually.....
And sensible, decent Americans who didn’t vote the **** in are left to ask What Have I Done To Deserve This?!
I know quite a few Americans that are deeply ashamed, embarrassed and very angry at what is happening in the name of America to be honest. I do feel sorry for them, it will be interesting to see what those relatives that did vote for Trump think in the coming year, at the moment we are avoiding politics with them.

Up market fireworks display...👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.

I believe the FAA refused to give Space X a license at some point, but I expect that got sorted somehow.

I think that's true. His supporters are unlikely to drop the 'messiah'.

It’s the falling out with Trump that will be his downfall. He has a very large target on his back and no friends, that’s not good place to be….

Obviously he’s rich beyond dreams. But most of that is on paper from his shareholding. The value of which has almost halved in weeks. The financial media reported earlier this week that Trump’s new billionaire buddies have seen their net worth reduced by £209b this year.
