In such a litigatious country, wonder what other car manufacturers think of this desperate pr stunt? Aren’t quite a lot of Tesla’s made outside of the U.S?

Isn't this going to negatively affect the sales of Teslas? I don't know if my impression is correct or not, but I thought that Trump's base were blue-collar Americans that mostly don't have the money to buy a Tesla, and those that do are more likely to buy a 4-litre pick-up truck.

What I do like about this though is that it indicates that the boycott is genuinely harming Musk.

To be sure, Musk couldn't be poor if he tried. But, what he lives for now is clearly not money. It's prestige, power and indulging his twisted fantasies. And these are all vulnerable, especially if he becomes a laughing stock.

Not sure about that. He's clearly 'in' with Trump and, until that relationship falls apart (and it will) he won't be going anywhere. And even then, now he's got a foot in the door, he probably wouldn't go quietly.

He, like Trump, has created a cult and also isn't afraid to trot out BS at every turn (blaming Ukraine for trying to bring down Twitter, for one example). But his supporters/followers don't care one bit. I think he'll be part of the furniture for a while.

I know quite a few Americans that are deeply ashamed, embarrassed and very angry at what is happening in the name of America to be honest. I do feel sorry for them, it will be interesting to see what those relatives that did vote for Trump think in the coming year, at the moment we are avoiding politics with them.

I believe the FAA refused to give Space X a license at some point, but I expect that got sorted somehow.
