i thought about this. do current Republicans really want a Democrat leaning state, bringing at least 4-6 million presidental votes and probably 30-40 representatives and 2 Senators to the Democrats? of course Trump hasn't given it this much thought.

If you think that Canadians would be allowed to vote, you haven't been paying attention!

I've not posted on this thread before and don't intend to again but I have to have my say.
This deluded human will not be happy until he has alienated the world. He talks about Reciprocal Tariffs when he is the one that started this trade war. I'm completely baffled as to why he cant/wont see this. Was he allowed to impose the initial tariffs for free? NO... no he wasn't.
He has insulted so many people along the way in such a short time too. The mind boggles.
To call the leader of Canada a Governor and to insult a Man, a President who is having to watch as his countryman are killed day after day by a very bad egg is simply mind blowing. Does he not have an ounce of decency?
Id like to see this coming to its end but have a feeling it may drag on for months, if not years. What a way to live eh.

It’s a bizarre mindset to insult friends and then expect they will like you. It’s almost playground level thinking.

Silly old bat
You'd think a man of his expensive tastes would know there are no champagne businesses in the US (in the production sense which he's evidently referring to as opposed to the importers).
He should also know the EU has no effect on the price of whisky, whereas it might have an effect on the price of whiskey.

He is an idiot.
He is also a cold, heartless, spiteful piece of shit.
As we mostly seem to agree.
But let's not forget the utter chaos is (non)coincidentally exactly what benefits Putin.
Along with a lot of other chaos in the West that Vlad has encouraged, aided & frankly caused over the last decade & more.
Putin is the root

I agree that Putin is the obvious, and possibly only, beneficiary of this global chaos, except maybe Netanyahu. I am not sure that this makes Trump an 'asset' who is being directed from the Kremlin but I think they are happy to see his lunacy let loose and just to provide a few nudges. I think that Putin also realises that as an instinctive bully Trump will ultimately always side with what he sees as strength and in the case Putin knows it will be him.

I think the most important role that Russia has played has been online where they have softened up a significant part of the US electorate to the extent that they are now living permanently in a hall of mirrors where everything is distorted and nothing can be believed except what Trump says. This is why he is constantly on people's screens like an orange Big Brother. Having done their job in the USA the Russians will now be turning their online operation on us in Europe with the EU the main target.

I've been following The Shallow State, a psychiatrist, for years, first on Twitter, now on Bluesky. Trump checks all boxes for sociopathic narcissism. The Shallow State identifies and analyses Trump's pathological acts and behaviour at each one of his rallies, interviews, conferences, etc.

The Shallow State -- on Bluesky

George Conway (Kellyanne's ex) has been a Never Trumper since 2017 and invested himself and millions of his own money to combat the GOP, e.g. The Lincoln Project, PsychoPAC, The Bulwark, Unfit: The Psychology of Donald Trump and Untruth: The Psychology of Trumpism (documentaries), campaigning with Kamala, etc. etc. This article he had printed in The Atlantic was probably the first long-form reportage to publicly and loudly call out and list Trump's pathologies.
