I’m just suggesting we separate the football from the politics?
This is a seismic event. A massive global story, with Europe on a knife edge and the President of the (lol) free world™ shouting at the leader of a sovereign country in front of the world’s media. This will be taught in schools, discussed for decades. It could very well be a precursor to a Euro-American war.

If you aren’t willing to engage, put the threads you don’t like on ignore, or use the helpful “Just Albion Threads” button, there’s nothing anyone can say or do to help you.

@GT49er is no racist.

Let's not squabble among ourselves.

There are dangerous enemies out there..... (Russia and China).

America is not our enemy.

Even if it is currently being steered by bagman in a rented lifestyle.
Not wanting to squabble, because I admire you too much for that, but I shall indulge in some polite pedantry.

America is not our enemy but I think things have advanced to the stage where we can legitimately suggest it is no longer an ally.

The United Nations vote showed that.

I agree that is why I think it might have all been pre planned
Of course it was pre planned - right down to the reporter and his toxic question who had his own uniform on.
A proper mugging. Shame that Americans can’t see through the haze. This was disgusting treatment of a European country’s leader. I hope Charles plays the sick card and cans the meeting.

Thanks for phrasing that so objectively. I’ll come clean, I’ve never been fussed about the topics discussion on the big board before. This one however has propelled every know it all, fragile ego’d narcissist on the forum out of their burrows into the daylight, together in one big trolling conglomerate, telling all of us thickoes how it is and how it’s gonna be.

I’ve never encountered you before, but you are indeed thick, yes. Not because of your opinions on the subject, but because you can’t operate a very simple message board.

1. Click for only Albion threads
2. Profit

I don’t know how else to phrase this so you, an admitted cretin of the mind, may understand.

Maybe. Perhaps they haven't ever been an ally as such. The late arrival on the scene in 1944 has left me with one permanently raised eyebrow.
And I recall Ronny Reagan describing his sadness at the falling out of his two friends, the UK and Argentina.
Indeed, separate nations tend to act together for reasons of self-interest, often from formal treaties.....
However.....

Vance started shat sh*tshow last night on second viewing maybe it was all pre planned from trump and vance ?
no, this is an odd line of thinking, they just aren't that clever. in the build up Zelensky is schooling them on the history, the fact Russia doesn't hold to their agreements. actually Trump is giving off some "ok, didn't realise, fair point" gestures, while Vance is just gnawing a bone. then Zelensky makes some comment like "maybe you'll feel the pain" and Trump blows up like it's a direct threat, that escalates like a scene from a Scorsese film. a different wording and they'd have carried on their uncomfortable but amenable meeting.

The politics thread have 'politics' as their prefix if you find titles such as 'Donald Trump . . . .' misleading.

Use the clues and then, and this is the tricky bit, don't click on them.

I hope this helps,

You are doing that thing like your leader.
It's not reasonable to give up anything.
I don't think you guys understand what peace looks like. It's not capitulating giving land to invaders that invade and just take it. It doesn't stop there, without guarantees they will take more.
What would have been reasonable 80 years ago for peace? Poland, France?
Is peace allowing China to take Taiwan unchallenged?
Trump Canada? I mean if he wants it he can take it right? If he does, and Canada wanted peace, hypothetically, they ought would do nothing under the Trumps rules order on how things should work
Putins peace offering is to keep the 20% so far of occupied land. It would be more but for the Ukrainians with US and EU support. Not just that, importantly their sovereignty. It will be more, probably all of it without support. Oh and their POWs, precious raw materials.

When Putin is done with that the next wins are Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. Problem was they are part of NATO. Problem is, NATO is now weak with a Russian partner in the so called leader of the free world f***ing up the world order.

As long as the US is OK under president's Trump, Musk, and vice president clueless Vance the rest of the world can go f*** them selves.

It will come to bite you when Trumps deals imposing tariffs start actually pushing up your prices and inflation rises and all the clowns who believed they were going to be better off under this administration are looking at the price of eggs and realizing this isn't what we were promised/voted for. Or they can't pay their mortgage because they were fired by email by an unelected guy from Africa

He can bully through property deals. But politics and democracy doesn't work that way. Trump might think they do, in the long run they can't. I'm the future hopefully the kids and grandkids of Americans will look back and think how on earth did my parents vote for this, how didn't they see it was a bad idea electing a felon. The rest of the world can see it. Democrats all know it. Republicans are either blinded to it, dumb, or too spineless/worried about their jobs to speak out

So what's reasonable? Nothing. A possible compromise/half way meet, Crimea. Which should have been the warning sign. Anything else isn't peace. It's looting. Like allowing people to walk into a bank with a gun and giving them all the money in order to keep "peace" as it's the easiest thing to do. And then think that they wouldn't rob the bank next door
But it won't. The administration will just blame Johnny Foreigner, or whatever the American equivalent is. And so it will go on, rinse and repeat...!

But the second paragraph ain't gonna happen, pootin doesn't care anymore , he will be dead in a few years. So to avoid this war going on for
ever and more needless deaths and money down the drain. How about reach a compromise and be the bigger person?

What other option is there?
So you're saying he doesn't want peace? So he clearly DOES care. He wants A USSR and won't stop at Ukraine.

But yeah, go after the guy in the smaller country that has been invaded and try and force them to concede. Great idea! Would you accept that approach here in the UK, if a 'European' army invaded and took over Sussex? "Ah well, you can have it, we don't mind."
