He has already muted this which we know is the first step to trying to implement it

It does bring Obama into play, if he wants it.
You'd need a large number of Democrat senators and representatives to vote in favour in order for an amendment to happen (2/3s of both houses). And all of the GOP. The constitution was designed specifically to prevent this sort of thing from happening. Which it wont.

I'm not sure they are asleep. His supporters are either getting their news solely from pro-Trump sources or living in an evangelical apocalyptic virtual reality where chaos is welcomed. Those who can see what is happening are like rabbits caught in the headlights, paralysed and scared.
If anyone does stick their head above the parapet they know that Musk can unleash his X army against them and they will face real danger. At the moment I can't see how resistance can effectively be mobilised.
Yes, that feels about right. Hopefully there'll be some serious push back from some senior and serious people that'll make Trump neuter Musk a bit. I do hope that Teslas made in China are not exempt the rise in tariffs.
I love this "evangelical apocalyptic virtual reality" and for me it'll be EAVR 👍👍

As with Putin in Russia, you can only deny reality for so long. At the moment the world over there is very much as you call it. I no longer use X regularly but look in every so often and it’s like entering a parallel universe. But things can only be kept hidden for so long, and when it all goes very south people will see it. Of course, some will never see the reality, they’re so far down the rabbit hole that they will insist the Emperor’s robes are magnificent when they are literally eye-balling his cock and balls. But most aren’t like this.

Incidentally, this is the new Time magazine cover;

Trump will hate it. And if Elon is seen as overshadowing him, he’s out. Then the shit really does hit the fan.

Sobering conversation recorded yesterday. George Conway (IYKYK) gaming out various scenarios and not seeing much light, if any, at the end of the tunnel.

your computer and phone, anything with a chip will have USian products.
Maybe, but Intel for example have FABs all over the world and having worked in a few a lot of the tools they use are made in Europe, Applied materials for example use German pumps and gauging and nearly all the metal work is made in Europe with the uk being a big supplier.

But I was more thinking Cars, furniture, household appliances that sort of thing.

That's how I see it too.

Another factor is the sheer volume of crazy stuff being enacted in so many different places all at the same time. It makes challenging anything incredibly difficult. And that's just the stuff that is visible - there's sure to be things going on that no one is aware of yet.

It's an extreme version of "it's easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission" - just break everything as quickly as possible because if and when the challenges do arrive, it will be too late to do anything about it.

Not to mention 38 out of the 50 states have to ratify it.
