Not sure you understand Blooms gambling business. Unless I've misunderstood, he doesn't take money from poor people on the street, he takes money from already wealthy people in order to take money from very rich bookmakers. Ordinary gamblers are not involved. I'm not saying it's a particularly altruistic way of using money, but it's not your normal gambling company.

I completely understand it thanks. That's what StarLizard does. However Premier Bet, the company he founded and sold to make his first proper money, does exactly as you say.

He had form though - ditched the FA to come to us?

God forbid somebody moved jobs to try and better themselves. What an ********.

Earning a very good living doing something you love and its still not enough you want to take Saudi money and improve their sport washing plan; life's all about choices I guess.

My hope is he was the system guy. Seemed to set up the system at England and rightly gain plaudits for that but tick along competently at other aspects. Was thus ideal for here at the time we hired him and equally we were a good match for his next project. If that is in place now we should be able to find someone else as well suited to the current situation at the club or dare I say it even better (for the now).

Meanwhile he doesn’t go to a big six club with system in place but a club described regularly as a basket case in terms of youth setup and training facilities to do it a third time (if you consider him as only having half done that or learning whilst doing it for West Brom before he got the England role?)

Your moral compass has also been corrupted I see. Business is business but working for a murderous regime is never the right thing to do chap even by proxy.

You and Dan should watch the Dissident together.

So how many of the big clubs are run by lovely people with fair-gotten gains? Should he stall his career and stay at Brighton forever because the higher up you go, the worse the owners are?

Tony and Paul's statements had undertones of 'thanks but now feck off you mercenary'. The extended gardening leave clause showed that they knew it was always a possibility.

Don't think they will need the phone box for his leaving do.

Literally couldn't care less about this.

Will have no impact on my experience of supporting the Albion. The club will continue on its path with no perceptible deviation.

If it was possible my wish for Newcastle to be relegated has increased even more now

Yes, very much this.

I understand BDB move.

That's why Dunky, Solly and Mayo are so much my Albion heroes, their loyalty and consistent services never go unnoticed by me.

My no 1 thing on my wishlist is for Dunky to get to captain us in Europe, I hope we can get their in time.

I still find it pretty sad that individuals just take the Saudi Shilling.

We must be one of, if not the best, run clubs in the country. Stable owner, progressive manager, steadily improving league positions. I get the money bit and Newcastle do have a very strong fanbase but surely job satisfaction has to come in somewhere.

I'm sure GP has had approaches from shitshow clubs looking for a new manager but at the moment anyway he seems to be taking a more pragmatic approach.

Very disappointed in Ashworth with this. Its one of those where he gets what he deserves for me.

Not going to elaborate on why this move should present a moral quandary for most people.

Remains to be seen whether this move will actually advance his career too, it could be stalled in the championship for a few seasons which would delight.

Oh well. Thanks for your efforts Dan. You brought some good signings into the club and no doubt your contribution behind the scenes has helped get us to where we are now.

Enjoy the fat pay check but with the challenge and stress of working for a club’s hierarchy and fan base that will demand immediate success.

Without sounding too churlish, I hope Saudi FC are in the championship next season.

Once Weir was given an effective promotion it always looked like a handover of sorts was underway.‬

‪No one person is the organisation and you would hope he leaves having built an effective framework and that processes can be followed. ‬

‪Still it’s a shame. ‬

This was my thought once Weir was promoted. Continuity is key now and we don’t need someone in with a load of new ideas. We have the framework and we’ll continue to work in the manner we’ve built. A bit like the 1970s Liverpool.

Dan CASHworth.

With all due respect - the reason we took him from the FA was because we offered him a salary package that the FA could not compete with.

.

Presumably you'd add Paul Barber to this list, given he will have spent a decade at the Albion in a couple of months. :)

Rather proving my point, no? He's a money man.

Which is pretty much 99% of football. Why did Brighton born and bred Lewis Dunk want to try and go to Fulham all those years back?
