And there goes our best summer targets no doubt. The Paraguay kid encisco, a few others we may have targeted. Expect them on Tyneside now for larger amounts of dirty cash.

I hope he enjoys his Sportswashing.

And I hope Potter has more integrity when Ashworth "headhunts" him for Newcastle.

Are we allowed to speculate it might be Newcastle?

The internet is full of people who speculate. It is a sometimes dangerous and immature thing to do. I wouldn't speculate about where he is going.

It's Newcastle.

F**k him. Hope he enjoys his dirty money. Good luck to David Weir who I am sure has been building up to this role during his time here. We have a fairly well established development and transfer policy now and I hope Weir can provide the continuity we need.

Given that they will continue to work for Bloom, I expect their approach to finding a striker will be consistent with our prior approach: Find someone with good potential for a reasonable fee (i.e. Undav). We're not going to start spaffing millions up the wall on a £40m+ striker now Ashworth is off

Being reported it is Newcastle.

Hope this proves to be a lucrative mistake for Dan with relegation and financial fair play enforced. What a sell out, thought he had integrity and class but clearly not.

I wish him all the happiness in the world and feel no anger about this at all. On the other hand since he will be at a rival club I hope he is an abject failure in all that he does until he moves on to a different country or to a club with less money than Mr Bloom has.

Clearly none.

I would be verysurprised if the successful candidate isn't David Weir. Groomed by the club for a while, promoted to assistant TD and, more pertinently, turned down Everton for a similar role recently... Personally, I hope he gets the role but whatever happens, the club is clearly smart enough to have significant levels of succession planning in place for all key people at the club.

1 - I imagine the club have invested in a computer with Excel so the names are probably on there and not on a bit of paper in Dan's pocket.
2 - The players we target may not suit the positions/profile of player that Newcastle are targeting. If Newcastle survive, next summer will be BIG signings.
3 - On the example of Ensico, I don't believe an untried 18 year old will be the player Newcastle will be targetting for immediate impact. We HAVE to shop in the market of "Will the player have a strong re-sale value/potential" to sustain our model. Newcastle do not need to care about that.
