If Jezza launches a new, left of centre party, will it lead to another Tory led government? If rumours are true then JC might just launch a new proper socialist party for those not satisfied with Starmers Labour option.

The tories (scummy lot that they are) are left of centre (take a look at world politics, our NHS, tax and benefit system etc). Not as left as many would like, but (although right of labour) they are not right wing (their chosen policies, as opposed to some of the right wing people in the party).

Labour are a bit further left of centre. Corbyn would be nowhere near the centre. How can you describe a proper socialist party as 'left of centre'?

'momentum' always sounded like one of the teams of 'The Apprentice ' to me.

Then I met a few of them.

They're not that bright.
So exactly like most teams on The Apprentice, then?

I resigned from the Labour Party after Starmer eulogised Thatcher. That's unforgiveable.

I'm proud to be working class and a socialist. If you believe Corbyn is anti-semitic then you're a victim of the right-wing press' smear campaign.

The establishment were shit scared of him and did everything in their power to keep him out.

I couldn't give a monkey's if he's a bit scruffy, he cares about the people. Before profits.

I don't like Starmer but I will still vote Labour as, more than anything, I want the Tories out.

I am not sure what proper socialism means but Some argue that there has been no completely socialist country that has been successful, only countries that have seen success in adopting socialist policies.

Bolivia is an example of a prosperous socialist country. Bolivia has drastically cut extreme poverty and has the highest GDP growth rate in South America.

Other countries that have adopted and enacted socialist ideas and policies to various degrees, and have seen success in improving their societies by doing so, are Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Great Britain, Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.

Democratic Socialism has given the uk its Health Service, Pensions, Paid Holidays, Sick Pay, Reduced working hours, health and safety standards, universal education, social care, disability benefits, unemployment benefits, a national railway system the list goes on.
All while the right of British politics has fault against these public services and even worse has dismantled many of them.

most if not all of these Were provided by a democratic socialist government of the type advocated by Jeremy Corbyn, just saying like.

Indeed. None of the policies that Corbyn proposed in the Labour Manifesto were extreme and are in fact in existence in many countries today including Europe. The possibility of privatisation of some industries e.g rail, higher taxes for the richest, position on Israel was unacceptable to big business, corporate media and the powers that be - hence every possible effort was made to ensure it wouldn't happen. Even the US interfered - Mike Pompeo the ex CIA head and Trump lackey said that he would do everything in his power to prevent him becoming PM.

Could be wrong but don't think he will set up a party pre election and this is just media stirring. He has every right to run as an independent after being prevented from running for Labour for reasons that are frankly bull sh*t.

Even if he does run I don't believe he will make any significant impact on a Labour win as people seem to hate the dishonesty and lack of vision from Starmer less than the Tory crooks currently in charge.

Can I point out there already IS a left-wing alternative to Labour? My old lot Socialist Labour, started by Arthur Scargill as a pushback against Blair when he abolished Clause Four.
There's also the Socialist Party, formerly Militant, formed when they were kicked out of Labour. They still stand in elections under the name of TUSC.

Remind me of Sir Keir's immense achievements. Genuine question.
Dragged a party that had just suffered its worst result in decades to a point that it is electable. Has largely quelled the infighting. Has a set of policies that are realistic and focussed on delivering the greater good to the greatest number of people and still has the right wing press after him.

He's ahead in every opinion poll out there by miles. If the election was tomorrow he'd walk it.

Of course, that might be more to do with the venal, corrupt and incompetent liars he's up against.

In short he got rid of some of the barmy left, which some on here think are great. Peter Pan angry students.

A friend of mine works in a church where he often helps with the garden. Fair play to the bloke for doing that, but
you sense that his day (whatever that means) has come and long gone. Maybe stick to the gardening now Jeremy.

took a party that got absolutely mullered at the end of the general election and got it to the point where it should walk the next election. Largely quelled the infighting and improved the reputation of Labour with the general public

also caught Boris Johnson up in a web of lies which contributed to his eventual downfall

Except people like you who make these points ever state what the “interference” actually was. And there’s a reason for that. The interference was Corbyn’s office trying to press the dysfunctional Labour bureaucracy into speeding up an antisemitism disciplinary case because they believed Livingstone had made unacceptable statements that weren’t being dealt with quickly enough.

The background is that Labour’s disciplinary bureaucracy was fully in control of the Labour Right until 2018, ie. The majority of time Corbyn was leader. It was their negligence that was responsible for the delay in dealing with the small number of antisemitism cases in the party.

Antisemitism is a very serious issue. The fact that it’s being cheapened by being used as a hobby horse to attack politicians whose political ideas you don’t like is an utter disgrace and in the long run will only weaken defence of Jewish communities in this country from prejudice and racism
I condemn all cheapening and all hobbyhorses.

Your post is ludicrously one eyed. Why did Starmer censure Corbyn? Because he back-tracked over his eventual apology and recognition that antisemitism isn't just part of the 'all forms of prejudice' and is an actual thing. Around the same time Wrong-Baily also got the heave-ho for re-tweeting some antisemitic trope. They are fools and have no place in front bench politics. Or, indeed the labour party.

Here is where all the excitement about the Corbyn Party is taking place. Top of the traffic list is GB News. f*** me. The last hope of the tory party is a GB news led promotion of a party to 'split' Labour. With the Mail right behind, wanking furiously, and the Express agitating for a labour 'crisis'. Pitiful.

No, the Tories have achieved that for him and he has no discernible policies.
I will still vote for him, which (for me at least) proves my first point.

Born the son of a toolmaker and a nurse, passed the 11+ and went to a state grammar school, got a degree in law from Leeds University, appointed QC, went on to become Director of Public Prosecutions and was knighted for it.

Not bad
