Odd. By far the best ref this season IMHO.

Yeah he was a good ref
I hardly noticed him and he let the game flow and always looked for advantage play (he wasn't fussy about the positioning of defensive free kicks too)
He was un-sighted by their blatant corner that wasn't given and his linesman should've assisted him there
Bristol City did help though by not coming close to the ball in large spells of the game so was an easy game for him to ref

Saw him in Tesco's earlier on today, went all schoolboyish and plucked up the courage to speak to him. His eye looked bad but he said it was fine and would go down in a couple of days, Nothing to worry about.
And he shook my hand

But you have now realised as I have previously, he is an absolutely lovely bloke.

Hope he is soon back to normal.

It's a black eye, there is no damage to his vision nor any concussion that we're aware of: essentially it's just a bruise. Any whack to the head or face always looks worse than it is because it swells up more.

Is that what you say to the relatives of the people you arrest!!?!! "He fell down the stairs, guv, honest!". Joke.

spoke to him after the match, he said he wanted to stay on and play, but the gaffer said it would affect his perspective. He was in good spirits still and left laughing. Cant keep a good man down!!

in that case he should have stayed on - if his perspective was changed he might of actually scored.....
