I was at Maidstone yesterday and watched CMS as closely as I could. My observation would be, that on at least 3 occassions the ball was played up to him and he laid it off to Nooney and went for the return ball behind the defence. Only for Craig to turn inside and play a short square ball inside. CMS was showing signs of frustration at this. Admittedly Noone was playing on the right rather than the left. Think if we get quick ball to him it would lead to more chances/goals for him.

Interestingly second half we moved the ball so much quicker and goals followed!

I sort of agree in terms of Nooney, but would you not agree compared to Hoskins level of movement CMS was fairly static yesterday - personally I thought that was the difference. CMS was keen but did not play on the shoulder of the last defender as well as Hoskins yesterday. I'm pleased CMS scored though, hopefully that will be the first of many.

I would concur with what you say, and agree that Hoskins played more on the shoulder of the last man. However I believe that CMS is as capable of doing that, but with the
personnel employed in the first half, the ball never got forward quick enough. This meant that CMS was coming deeper to receive the ball with his back to goal.

I think if he had played in the second half formation it would have suited him also. Thought Barnes playing just behind Hoskins (Who I really hopes gets a crack of the whip this season), was very effective in creating space all around the 18 yard box.

There again WTF do I know

I wouldn't be surprised if this came to fruition. Gives Gus an extra £2M to bring in a 2nd striker and allows Barnes to play as an attacking midfielder.

This is laughable - 2M plus McCormack!!! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Get real!!!! A straight swap at very best.

Also Barnes days as an attacking midfielder are numbered. Hes gotta play as a striker or not at all IMO.

Mackail smith didnt come a bad player overnight yes he found it very hard to fit into our style of play, hopefully this season it will change, i believe he didnt shoot enough and was trying to do too much for the team, what we want him to do is get the ball and shoot, i dont think he shot enough last year, always try to pass the ball to someone else.
Be greedy and shot and you will score more, i think leeds will play similiar football to us next year so if fails at us which i think he will and can be a massive player for us and be sad to see him go, you can also tell he soo wants to do well for us, but we be both 2 similiar types of sides with leeds putting on a even bigger expectation than we have of him.

If and that's if there was any sort of swap moves between Cms and McCormack, I think it may well be Leeds who would be looking for an extra bit of bunce on top given their respective records last season. Although I would think a straight swap would be more in line. That said, McCormack does seem a bit in and out, but I suppose that's true with a lot of strikers. Throw in the fact some people suggest he maybe a bit of a billy big bollocks, I think I would be inclined to stick with Cms. McCormack never really pulled up any trees until last season, but it would piss on Palace's parade, which would be quite amusing.

This ..

I think CMS and Barnes with the right service will get more goals this season.

Barnes gets plenty goals already, just by being where the ball providers know where to find him.

Far simpler than trying to pick out CMS running mentally about like a hyperactive Alex Ravell on speed.

Barnes played out of position cost one hundred thousand pounds apparently, scored more goals than the headless chicken who played as striker and cost three and a half million apparently.McSmudger is not shit he just cannot play the Gus brand of football, better for him and us for him to move on.I wish him all the best as he seems to be a nice bloke who puts alot of effort into his game

Can only be a straight swap or a swap and us give them a small amount of cash.

Both players are relatively unproven at this level. BUT McCormack did score a lot more goals.

Strange decision by clubs and players alike though if this happens. Weird one, but doubt it makes much difference to us either way.
