A blind man can see we do not play to his strengths.

True, however it can also be argued that he doesn't play to our strengths either.

Personally I don't care about his record and what he has done (or not) in the past, I care about what he can do in the future. The only person to really gauge that is the manager. If he thinks he can/will perform then keep him, if he doesn't think he will perform then sell and use the money for a replacement.

For me I hope he does come good but there's only so long you can wait for it to come together as it may ultimately not.

We're not gonna get offered 3 million for him after a disappointing, for whatever reason, season. I hope he gets the chance to shine this year, he appeared to totally lose his way after a great start. But then so did the team. We need to show a bit of patience, this seems to be a problem for too many of our current fans.

Living in Peterborough and knowing the guy that sponsors the shirt, I get to hear a lot about CMS here. He is a great guy and that may be the problem. Posh needed/need the money. The owner an irish property tycoon was/is/has been hit hard by the economic downturn. When they sold him, he was happy to stay but he took one for the club. He was adored here, similar to our Bobby. I have a feeling that he had a lot of baggage with him last year and that with some decent tactical coaching and support he could come good.
I hope he gets another season before being shipped out. As for Rhodes, he is a good player and will score goals in the CH no problem.

Sorry but that is not correct Peterborough promised him that they would let him move on at the end of the season if a club offered the correct price

Agree entirely, getting boring now. A blind man can see we do not play to his strengths. To say he is rubbish is pathetic. Utter morons.

Utter morons for having an opinion? Surely that makes you an "utter moron" too? Join the club. Never said he was rubbish. I said he was not very good. There is a difference.

If we get 3mill plus then sell, his not going to set the league alight like most think, he wont his a good championship player but he's not fantastic like most hope, he stepped up and well scored 10goals in 45 games, he's a good player but if we get a decent offer we should think about it, if we got 3mill or more i wouldn't be upset about losing him.

I get slagged off for making an opinion on a player on a fans forum??? strange. If there was an award for The Championships nicest man, he would probably win. Just because i doubt his footballing ability does not make me a "bad fan". I have seen enough over the last year to be able to judge him as a player and even though we may not play to his strengths he has left me very disappointed. His first touch is terrible, he cannot hold the ball up and does not score enough goals. League 1 is his level, sorry if that pisses you lot off but it is the truth. If we have a chance to get our money back i think we should sell and buy the striker we need. Someone who will take us to the next level.

CMS had a poor season, I don't think anyone would argue with that. Strikers are confidence players and towards the back end of last season you could see his confidence was shot to pieces. Some of the goals he scored in the first bit of last season were pure class, especially the one against Leeds and not something a two bob striker could do. I can see the case for cashing in on him or even a possible swap deal, with a northern championship club. But I am firmly in the camp that a new season, a clean slate and a bit of restored confidence and we will see the real Cms next season.

Just because he hasn't smashed in 20 goals this season it doesn't mean League 1 is his level...

We haven't played to his strengths and he hasn't been amazing but with confidence next season I'm sure he'll be scoring a lot more than the previous season.

If you put CMS in a few other teams in the Championship then he'd score a load due to the fact that some teams suit his style of play, at the moment we don't.

For what it is worth I agree with you. He appears to be a great guy, he runs his socks off, and gives 100%. However, he does appear to lack the quality to complete the limited opportunities created by Gus' style of football. He has the touch of a rapist, and is always in the wrong position. In my opinion, Ashley Barnes is already a far better player, and improving all of the time.

Talk of getting a strike partner for him is inappropriate. How often will Gus play with two strikers?

I think both Barnes and CMS will get better service from the backs and wings this coming season and get a shed load more goals. I'm just glad no one is after Barnes.

Having checked my facts, you are right. Norwich offered posh 2.5m for him and they turned them down. He then came out and said he was disappointed with the board's attitude, but would continue 100% for the club. That quote comes from the daily mail online! from the time.
All I can say is that some people I know who know him well and continue to speak regularly to him say he never wanted to leave, but perhaps that was before the canary bid came in.
However, you are right and specifically I was wrong, I still think he should be given another season!

i know for a fact cms thinks he's gonna get 30 goals this season, i say sell him, huff and puff merchant

What he thinks and what he achieves are likely to be two completely different things. I would love to think he could score 30 at Championship level. But, it will not happen. If he did manage it, he would need two or three times as many chances as Ashley Barnes.

Pretty much agree with this. I'm not sure we are going to suit his style of play, it will be more of a case of him changing his style to suit Gus's tactics. I really want him to come good, but he is here to score goals and less than 20 this coming season will be very disappointing.

I think we should keep him for sure but my real problem would be selling him to a promotion rival. What if he bangs in 20 goals for Leeds and gets them promoted over us?

Don't worry, it would not happen. If it did, they would need to be so dominant that someone like Ashley Barnes would have scored twice as many.
