Pretty certain but stand to be corrected that what he means by a burner phone is one linked to a season ticket that can be sold to anyone. The phone is given to them to go into the ground and then they either give it to someone inside the ground who is in on the scheme or they have to return to the person that sold them the 'ticket'. Maybe they have to leave a large cash deposit so they get it back when they return the phone! I believe that's how touts in the north do it.

I know someone who's done this for Anfield a couple of times. They had to meet a chap somewhere before the game to get the 'burner' phone and then return it after. The first time they picked the phone up, they were told that the battery was crap on the phone and to only turn it on just before heading to the turnstiles - and to turn if off once in the ground.

Do you really have to ask? Surely the point the club are making is that if you are passing your ticket on, don't pass it on to a dickhead. We all know you can't be responsible if your 'guest' does something completely out of character. However, if you give your ticket to someone who you know to be a pratt and, true to form they behave that way, don't be surprised if the club take action.

He's passed it on to a Member. Someone the club have accepted payment from to become a Member.
Surely the club should be asking the member to behave himself, not going through a third party?

The wording is ‘You are responsible for the behaviour of the supporters you share your season ticket with’.

My mate is fine, easy going, will sing etc etc. but issues aren’t related to just inside the stadium. Am I to be responsible if he got pulled up for the following ?

Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985:

  • carrying alcohol in vehicles on route to designated sporting events (subsection 1 and 1A)

There’ll be some who will say ‘don’t be daft’ but the effectively the club would penalise you for something someone else did, even though the police etc would not.

And yes, the police would report that back to the club.

I think there is a balance to be had here. I think you are just being asked not to invite a complete dickhead into the stadium, nothing else.

Which I’ve complied with…although most of my mates are twats (in a good sense).

I completely agree with you about balance, but I don’t completely trust the club.

Could this 'use it or lose it' approach (given despite not having fuller OP context) put some off a ST? Effetively you can buy a ticket match by match pay more overall and never attend and not get penalised. Appreciate scenario unlikely.

How to support the club! Take a look at this forum and see how frequent the threads are about how the north stand can't generate a unified atmosphere, fans telling others how to 'support' the club!! Watching footie is far more expensive now, get used to it. As I posted previously, we get treated far better than a lot of fans at other EPL clubs.
Think you'll find that's a couple of NSK goons.

I cannot go tomorrow so have transferred my ticket to a mate. He’s a BHAFC supporter (from Goldstone times) and it’ll be nicer for my son to have him next to him rather than some stranger.

So, I think this means I’m in the good books with the Club!!

But that bloody email about the attendees behaviour being my responsibility. He’s a BHAFC member, he’s 50+ and he’s easy going but he’s an individual with his own thought processes etc etc. How the bloody hell am I meant to be responsible for a father of two kids??

These patronising bastard emails from the Club.
All will be well.

If the email doesn't apply to you, just ignore it.

I get countless emails from people in my organization that don't apply to me. Twenty years ago I was spitting the dummy and threatening to block the sender. Then I got used to it all, recognized that personalizing correspondence to tens of thousands of individuals is impossible, and....moved on.

I appreciate that if you have a job in a small organization that doesn't involve receiving countless emails from people you don't know then it can all be a bit disconcerting, though.

Do you get the same poxy email about ‘five games must be attended in person’ or does that not apply (if they’re in a company name)?
Haven’t received it. Presumably because I always put it on the exchange. That ticket is in my personal name, the 1901s are in my company name.

Matter of interest have all clubs gone to digital STs or have some retained cards. I know at WH and Liverpool history of STs passed down families for years

I doubt the club would have a problem with any of that.

That ended seven years ago at Liverpool.

And, I’d guess, in 2016 at West Ham when they moved into the new stadium.

PL rules now state that a club must know who is sitting in each seat.

Yeah, it will be.

It’s clear that their missives are being read though…possibly because

Same with Newcastle, who have now gone electronic and the fan name on away tickets.

Sussex based Geordie friend would get in the Amex as his Dad would come down with various tickets that fans had bought and just sold on.

Just far enough away from LDC
We are now over 1k tickets on the exchange of which about 50 are lounges.

Yes the club has already had the money but having so many no shows for a game against the team second in the epl is interesting.

Maybe will get questioned for not buying food/drink or going in club shop and ST travel are instructed to arrive even earlier and drop off at the new outdoor facilities.
