The Police give out orders for the public to follow - they didnt follow them, so force had to be used. Its the same for everything for the Police, like if there is a fight on West Street on Saturday night, the Police tell you to leave the area and you dont, then they would use force and you may be arrested.

Oh right, so it's like that then is it? Fair play, i'll just go about assuming the police can boss anyone, anywhere they want.

Well f*** me, that's not heavy handed. All I could see there was a few jabs from the mounted coppers, no overarm swinging like the good old days.

I dunno, coppers today, could learn a bit from the old boys.

The bit where JFK allegedly says that those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable? So what violent revolution has occurred in the countries I named seeing as they have all suppressed peaceful revolution?

just take a look at how heavy handed the police have been on the occupy movement. I've seen clips of protesters all sitting down peacefully with their head in their arms getting sprayed with cs gas from a police officer standing half a meter away. Who's avoiding the peace?

You sound like you're just as bitter as the police. Why do you support the polices brutal actions? would you treat someone in public like that if they were in your way? Why are the police any different? I'm afraid insecurities about size, bullying at schools, ego problems, an extreme lack of brain and very little social life are what is required to join the police force. Nothing to do with social skill or intelligence. We've out sheeped the sheep, at least a sheep gets a sheep dog to guide it. We choose something as stupid to be our guide.
And to brand all police in a single sentence of stupidity shows what a complete numpty you really must be.

But the police aren't above the law. The batons aren't supposed to be used unless someone is in danger. Clearly this isn't the case. The protesters were protesting right? Isn't it understandable why they wouldn't follow the polices demands when in protests? The police force is one of the things they are protesting against. Did you know an officer gets paid 2k a month after leaving the force once he's done his duty!

Where did you learn that "fact" ? Care to point to either an act of parliament or a page in PACE that says that ? And so a police officer gets a £24k pension ? What exactly is wrong with that ? There are many public servants and private sector workers that get more than that and THEY haven't put their life on the line.

No, force is to be used when people dont follow orders which arent difficult to do IE move back down a road when asked. The video you have posted is known to of been over the top by the police and shouldnt of happened.

The police do "boss" people, they enforce the law. If the police closed off a road for example because someone had a gun, would you ignore them and go under the tape and walk down the road or if they say you cant go down there, start pushing the policeman ?

So an American officer used gas ? So what ? We're talking about Sussex Police here - you might as well make a comparison with Syrian police for all its relevance.

That's all very nice but seeing as that's a US university campus what's that video got to do with Burma, North Korea, China or Zimbabwe suppressing peaceful revolution and please explain how I don't understand the quote.

I know it's difficult to understand the adult world when you spend most of your time in the 6th Form common room but your post smacks of envy. Go and join the police force or the armed forces ( although I doubt you;d last a day on the front line ) then you too could have such a pension. Of course, assuming you have a job of some sort, I doubt you face the daily dangers of a police officer or solider ?

You know? you know what? that when you were educated at the age of 18 you knew jack shit? Thanks for sharing that with me.
Can I just ask, how do you know so much about the 'adult world' when you're social life evolves around an internet chat site? surely you're more out of reality than even a 6th form student? your views on policing are as open as a 1950's buddy holly album?

Ohhhhh - go one then, start the revolution :lolol::lolol::lolol:

or at least explain a valid argument as to why you're posting irrelevant videos and why you think police pensions are wrong ?

As I get older I am more in favour of letting the Police give anyone a kicking. Which I think says more about me than the Police.

same with me,and i would offer them a cup of tea afterwards as well......and maybe a slice of victoria sponge

Only reason i think batons were used was because the police thought the protesters could be violent towards the police. Should of just approached them with a baton drawn and only use it if they (the police) came under attack. The protesters arent all goody two shoes, if they cooperated with the Police, did what they said etc - then NONE of this would of happened - alas you do get people going to protests like this now solely to piss the police off, push them to their limit to see what they will do and to just cause trouble.

You're lack of understanding of the law is frightening.

No, there's nothing hypocritical about that.

Yes there is.

a) back when the Greens were a political irrelevance the idea of Falmer Stadium appalled them
b) don't wear the colours if you're not a fan - and please don't tell me she's a lifelong fan. No problem with her attending the game btw, she is the local MP. But wearing the colours as well? Might as well have trotted out a baby for her to kiss. And I thought the Greens were progressive.

Any time you're ready with that explanation of what I didn't understand please.

It's weird knowing there are people sat at keyboards right now with issues as big as the poster above! and they are the ones in the right? lol

Issues? What issues? You said I didn't understand the quote so I have asked for you to say where I'm going wrong. I think that's a fair debating point, don't you?

As an aside, I can't help but think you're 'Falmer' in another guise. Irrelevant Youtube videos, refusal to answer questions, the abuse is about people having "issues". Hmmm....
