i would like to see the Albion playing football again. obviously things could be worse, and the playoffs offer a glimer of hope but i don't see why i should simply "embrace" such painful football.

They could be a lot worse.

Look at where the fellow relegation teams from division one last year have ended up now.

I can believe the stats about possession. The first 20 mins Bristol were all over us but after that we got the upper hand.

We all would I'm sure but this team doesn't appear to be able to pass it well. We can moan all we want but it won't change anything. Just enjoy what we've got!

Sheffield Wednesday tried to play their way out of this division and soon learn't that it got them nowhere. Grimsby and Wendy could both go down again!

If we get up we'll play better football next season. Fingers crossed. :)

i don't understand why people are so pleased? i haven't seen us much this year but the last two games i've been to (luton and briz away) have led me to believe our team is worse than anything we've had since div 3 days.

we were lucky not to have lost, created absolutely nothing upfront and didn't look capable of competing in midfield. and this direct style of football, is not only terrible to watch but doesn't even seem to be effective.

ok ok so we should get into the playoffs but we only get results at home and i'm led to believe that is probably more to do with the Withdean factor than our team's ability.

nice summary.

i felt like i was in the minority coming away yesterday pretty unhappy with the game.
now i know a point away is an improvement and if anyone had said in december or january that we would get a draw at bristol city then i'd have taken it.
but i feel there is a difference between a point earned by attacking positively and being held by a quality defence or battling like bastards at the back against an onslaught or even coming back from 1 or 2 down to nick the point compared to not really creating anything or testing the opposition defence or holding onto possession for longer than about 3 seconds. especially against a team we might have to play twice again.
really wanted to see them tested.
imagine if we get to cardiff and play like we did at luton or at blackpool.

Solid result for us, with a much brighter 2nd half performance. My only concerns were Harding looking nervous playing in front of a big crowd (I hope he laerns from this and returns to his normal excellent form). My other gripe is the lack of goals. We've stopped scoring, we had to rely on a penalty last week, and couldn't hit a barn door against Rushden (bar the disallowed one!), prior to that a deflected Piercy strike as we got stuffed at Blackpool.

If we get to the play offs we need to score goals in the semi and the final, should we make it. I am more than a little concerned as to where they will come from.

And you think you lot are sad. Read my weekend bet.

Everton V Blackburn. Away win 9/4
Man Utd V Liverpool Away win 3/1
Crewe V Palace Away win 11/6
WBA V Bradford Home win 1/6
Wimbledon V Gillingham Away win 11/10

Bristol City V Brighton Away win 10/3

The £1 accumulator would have got me £327.79

The moral of this story. Don't bet on the club you love!

Some of the games we've lost, we haven't played any worse than a lot of the games we've won.

This is a very perceptive point. Fine margins win games and credit to us that we've had that little bit extra tactical nous and team spirit to be among the best in the division this year.

I'm gonna take a wild guess at this one and say the division's leading scorer and his new mate who's got 3 in 7.

Can I just add how completely lacking in irony Bristol City fans are in repeatedly singing their only song (the one about your sister being your mother, your uncle being your brother etc) to us?

What a bunch of spanners- clearly they are so pleased with themselves for having a new song (which West Ham invented anyway) that it's the only one they sing, despite the total and utter irony of a bunch of West Country folk telling Brighton fans they're inbreds.

City fans: it's *just about* ok for you to sing this to Plymouth, Cardiff or even Swindon, as geographically you're on safe ground.

But a word of advice: if you're determined to be abusive, please remember, we're the gays, the poofs, the fairies, the ones whose boyfriends know we're here. YOU'RE the inbreds, the cousins etc. Or had you forgotten that in the temporary confusion caused by your opening the Bristol, Bath & Avonmouth District Phone Book 2004 and finding only 2 surnames?

I bet they even sing it to London teams...

"your sister is your mother
Your uncle is your brother
You only shag each other
The Brighton family"

The words "pot" and "kettle" spring irrevocably to mind....

I was dissappointed with the atmosphere on Saturady. Two years ago we took the roof off for 90mins. Mind you if ever a game needed a goal to liven it up!

You say we sat behind the ball, but you didn't exactely throw the kitchen sink at us. You are assured of a play off place and you have a chance of going up automatically. Yet you never really tested our keeper. It was obvious when you were singing as you can see you standing up and waving your hands around. When you did sing I could hear you. You just didn't sing that much.

We basically cancelled each other out. You lot didn't come at us like I thought you would thus not leaving yourself exposed at the back. We, being the away team, were happy to sit back and defend against your half hearted attacks.

If you do go up you will find that the football in Div 1 is of a much higher standard to this crap league.

On the way out, the estimable diplomatic skills of Hart's Shirt (yes, the loqucious garment formerly of this parish was at the game and in fine fettle) were put to the test by some grumbly old worzel who launched into an unprompted moan about how defensive we were, you never go up without being able to attacking as well etc etc etc.

Didn't catch of Mr Shirt's response but they included the words "league", "top" and "scorer".

HANG ON A MINUTE

You are not getting away that lightly you carrot crunching twat.

It is up to you to play the football mate, not us. You were the ones who dicked us 4-1 at our place. Do you seriously think we were going to go hell for leather at your place...no fecking chance. We wanted a point and we got a point...simple as.

I was expecting far more from your lot...quiet crowd, inept midfield , pathetic attack. Talking about us falling over...your centre forward climbed all over Cullip every time the ball went in the air and the ref penalised Cullip every time.

If this division is so crap, then why aren't you up and away like Plymouth...its cos you are just as crap as the rest of us, but with one difference.....you have spend shed loads of money, you have a superb stadium and you get good crowds. Its the players that let you down mate, not the way we played.

If we see you in the playoffs then I hope for better matches, but I don't hold my breath.

Aas for your support......pathetic

I think I pissed off Adam Virgo by telling him it was two points dropped.
