I'm annoyed we lost. not annoyed like charlton and certainly not like losing to the retards of villa. I'm annoyed nonetheless as we weren't up to it first half.
Still don't think arse will win the league, even if they have been the best so far.

I have to say that was really impressive from the lads. When 3-0 down thought we could have easily succumbed to a 5 or 6 nil drubbing but we fought back really well against a quality side. The squad was threadbare tonight without Ali Mac, Caicedo, Webster and Welbeck but absolutely delighted for Ferguson to get his goal and felt we could have easily had a penalty late on to give them a few jitters.

Not one player on the pitch would have thought it was anything like offside.
And that is the problem with this nonsense interpretation of "clear and obvious." For 99% of people, clear and obvious means that everyone in that stadium knows the decision is wrong. When 99% are none the wiser, like with Mitoma's second, that's not clear and obvious.

We gave a great account of ourselves against an excellent Arsenal side. With Ali Mac, Caicedo and Welbeck, that would have been a different scoreline. Delighted for Evan as well - I know this is kneejerk but I'd have him over Undav and can see why De Zerbi has done so.

Over all . . .little ole Brighton did ok today IMO

no ones scored 2 against the Arse this season.

We didn't do ourselves any favours early on, but we scored 3, we shouldn't have conceded that many, or more.

That offside was obviously correct but brutal. Hopefully Tony sees that and realises we can’t be playing rest of season without Alexis and/or caicedo.

Great effort second half. Exciting times.

Gilmour did well. Lallana had a really poor game. So much more danger once we played a striker. Trossard doesn’t look interested at the moment.

Lamptey has lost so much pace it is scary.

Sanchez didn’t cover himself in glory.

Biased to the big teams how that can be ruled out is pathetic and so frustrating even though a small change we might of got a point
The rule is bullshit and its applied selectively by microscopic nazi officials hell bent on ruling out good goals and making themselves the story.

Rule should be similar as for the ball, if any part hasn't crossed line it's in.

If any part of a player is onside, they should be deemed onside.

Guarantees more goals and players being the story, not idiots in dark rooms with video monitors.

Saka was lucky not to see a second yellow.

I thought we did ok there.

Best opponents I've seen at the amex for a good while. Youth, energy and a clear playing identity.

That said, I think we matched them for most of the game. They scored most times they went forward and one or two of those owed a lot to fortune.

Ref had a good game in my view.

Clear and obvious doesn't apply to offside though. Having said that should still stand imo.

Imho our 3 best players are Caicedo, Mac Allister and Veltman. Arse lucked out massively with Mac A’s WC leave and Caicedo’s 5th yellow. Leaving no pace or power in CM, no specialists to protect the defence.

Then the madness of starting Lamptey over the brilliance of Veltman.

Take the 3 best players out of any EPL first 11 and it’s a game changer.

A loss was the obvious outcome to anyone who knows the value Caicedo, Mac Allister and Veltman. Hence:

Of course, clear and obvious error doesn't apply to offside. Though I do think these incredibly marginal ones that nobody notices shouldn't come under the remit of VAR. These armpit, or heel, offsides do nothing for the game. If the officials don't refer for offside I don't think it should be given

Refereeing - 'Yes there was a foul in the box, but he only pulled his shirt a little bit'

Also refereeing -'Before you scored that brilliant goal, your heel was offside. Sorry, but our standards are so hIgh that we can't overlook even the tiniest of infringements.'
