It's inevitable that both sides will claim victory, it'll be like two boxers lifting their arms at the final bell.

All the remainer EU fanboys on this thread will claim victory for the EU, it's already happening!
Expect to read "bullied" and "caved in" about a 1000 times.
Expect plenty of straw man arguments on how leavers didn't get what they wanted.

Couple of odds on favourites on here will be exclaiming Leavers didnt get what they wanted (Leave the EU).
Wonder which one will go first and claim the hat.

And yes, if there really is a trade deal just about to be completed as widely suggested then both sides will claim some sort of victory during the last push. That was always going to be inevitable. If you read some people online they are already doing this before seeing the detail

You can feel the excitement. After 4.5 years it's now only only minutes until Brexit supporters find out what they voted for.

Obviously we need to see the detail but if it is the deal that that was sold, whereby we keep absolute control of our fishing waters and get tariff free access to the EU market (including services, the bit that's over 80% of our GDP) whilst not being bound by the EU's rules and regulations and don't have to put a border in the middle of the UK, then I'm certainly going to crack open a bottle or two

Looks like a great deal for the side that has a large trade surplus in goods, not so sure about the side that has a large surplus in services

4.5 years of self indulgent domestic tantrum for this. Was it all worth it?

Hang on to that wine WZ! From Jan 1st we will only be allowed to bring back 18 litres of wine without incurring Duty from HM Customs and Excise.

There appears to be a last minute hold up in regards to fisheries and the 'small text' according to Simon Coveney. Johnson's expected triumphant speech at Heston Aerodrome this morning has not happened.

The gammon will have to be warmed up in the microwave for a few minutes this afternoon now.

How it works is if there is a deal, as is being announced, then that is what Brexiters wanted all along, if not and we have to go to Australian deal, then it switches to that being the exact thing that was voted for

Not nearly as funny as people who can't accept a referendum result or come to terms with a huge Tory majority feeling the need to set up a second/third account on a football message board with a 'hilarious' username trying to wind up Brexiteers as some sort of second prize

I once had business dealings with John Crumplin. He was a delightful person; quiet, thoughtful, bright and unassuming. The most inappropriate and 'hilarious' username on this board is therefore perhaps yours. Perhaps you could come up with something involving Florian Andone or Robert Codner?

Do people really still bring back alcohol from trips abroad?

How very quaint.

They used to, until trips abroad became quite quaint this year.

This Remain fangirl isn't claiming victory. We have left the best deal we could have had with more opt outs than any other country for a piece meal deal which doesn't do anything for the man in the street.

I am very happy if we get this deal.

OK, it is perhaps a Norway-- deal but future Governments can always look at joining the EU customs union and further integrate with the EEA.

I am not a real fan of rejoining the EU, but I do think we should now push to rejoin EFTA and then maximise our relationship with the EEA.

Johnson has a fine balancing act now as to when to announce this deal.

Obviously he wants to give the swivel eyed ERG loons the least possible time to throw a wobbly but also he'll want to get the hero bit done with all the back slapping before a long boozy Christmas Eve lunch.

Left to the 11th hour so doesn't give much time for parliamentary scrutiny, They might have to pass another bill to have it waved through quickly, which tells you it isn't a good deal.
