It's exactly this sort of well thought out and expressed defence of Brexit from one of its intellectual giants that will eventually see Vote Leave lauded in history as a similar gain for mankind as the invention of the wheel, The Enlightenment and walking on the moon.

I expect the Nobel Prize is in the post.

I see Honda is still closed due to port chaos, hoping to open again Monday.

Where's the RAF when you need them?

Seems shipping companies are refusing to collect empty containers or exports after dropping off goods in the UK because they do not want to miss slots at other ports such as Rotterdam, Antwerp or Hamburg.

Wait till January 1, you ain't seen nothing yet

Bloody Worthing!
Little snipped from breakfast TV his morning. Oliver Dowden interviewed and questioned on the post Brexit travel arrangements in Europe for Brits. His actual answer was inconsequential fudge but he referred to the other 'sovereign nations' in the EU. Funny how he recognises them as 'sovereign' despite their continuing membership of the dreaded EU; I thought the two were meant to be incompatible? Isn't that why we've had these 4 years of misery with lots more to come?.

Does anyone know what a 'Singe market' is?

I believe Uncle Spielburg once had a singed photo of Desert Orchid. Perhaps there is a secret world out there where items that have been slightly scorched by domestic animals are auctioned on the dark web. Obviously. US's Dessie photo is at the high end of that particularly niche market, whereas I imagine ppf deals in old colouring books that have been briefly left in front of a gas fire by a trained gerbil.

The really, really dumb thing is from a purely realpolitik perspective applied entirely to the template of British politics, Boris going for No Deal makes absolutely no sense. The last few weeks Labour has been quietly tearing itself apart over whether or not to back a deal which Boris brings back, and it could have turned into a really quite major split. So not putting one forward lets Starmer off the hook, as opposition to No Deal has always been the uniting factor in the Labour party on Brexit, and continues to be so. And even if Boris goes begging to the EU in January in the middle of the chaos and brings back the same deal they're offering now, Labour won't face that same quandary as they can turn around and say "this is a disaster, it's in the national interest to try and mitigate it".

So Johnson not getting own way with the Commission, thought he'd try his luck with Merkel and Macron. They rightly refused and said any negotiating is down via the Commission, as all 27 countries have agreed their position. Divide and rule might work here, but it doesn't in the EU.

The UK still doesn't realise they are losing this match 27-0.

It's almost like the people who were so desperate to leave the EU don't actually know how the EU works.
