Pittman is top quality on Champ (for lower leagues anyway), young as well if we are building for the future. Not heard much about the Owusu deal or Whing and Hart for that matter.

Probably here in the next couple of weeks. Id expect Harty to sign and Whingy would be mad not to IMHO.
Pittman looks very classy and I hope this rumour has some truth to it.

Pittman's not good enough. We should be looking for something better. I'd rather have the young Arsenal boy on loan any day over Pittman.

Tis not me I'm afraid, although Dick Knight did tell Lord B that my goal was BRILLIOTASTICO - quote, unquote.

So the bastard didn't even offer you a trial , Brett ?

Hopefully this has a bit of truth behind it, would be a decent signing. He is only 21 so could turn into a very good player, and is already scoring goals, and he is 6ft which aint bad. As for not good enough and prefering the arsenal kid (murphy i guess you mean) i strongly disagree. Pittman has 2/3 years league experience, in this league and league 2, scoring goals in both, 17 this season alone. Murphy has never played first team football for Arsenal, and has not got the league experience pittman has.

I feel you are very much mistaken. Pitman has just 30 goals in over 120 apperances.

If your argument is to be believe then I would point out that Pitman has a similar record to that of Jonny Dixon.

Murphy has the potential to be a premiershit player, scores goals in Arsenals reserves and youth teams week in week out (albeit when fit), whereas Pitman has a handful of good games and has the potential to play in league 1.

17 In 19 starts last season though, so that shows he is maturing and at 21 to have 120 appearances is amazing obviously hasn't had many injuries, Worth a punt I reckon.:)

Weren't both Dixon and Davies 'worth a punt'??

I just think we could do better. Personally I would be disappointed if we sign a striker and it was Pitman. :(

First of all, Dont judge davies yet it isn't easy being thrown into a relegation battle with all the pressure on you in your first game if he gets a good pre season he will be a big asset next season and is a proven goal scorer at this level, Johnny Dixon well enough said about him.:lolol:
Anyway What about Zamora, we took a punt on him and it pay'd off didn't it.

I cant see how you can compare JD with Pittman. JD was blatantly a very poor decision and will be rectified very soon, I have no doubt.
Pittman is doing what a lot of young aspiring players have done in the past.
He is maturing and now that he has finally had a good run in what is, lets face it, a poor side, he has shown what he can do. You will never see JD score a goal like the one he scored against Exeter!

He was also in the top ten goalscorers in League 2 last season and would probably be top if you factored in goals to starts.
Personally I would be gutted if we are not looking at players like this. He has one year left on his contract, his club need money, and fast, and if he has any ambition he should be looking to move up and should be busting a gut to impress further up the tree.

Totally agree, As I said its a totally unfair comparison and at 21 he can only get better.:whisky:

Spot on. Jd was a mistake, everyone knows that, not sure how he can be compared to Pittman. Pittmans young, and got 17 goals after a decent run of games last season, 7 goals in 14 starts the season before, and 5 in 8 starts before that. This is all at the age of 18/19 years old in league one. The stats say he has played 120 games but i bet you 70 or 80 of those are as a sub, coming off the bench with a few minutes left.
Sign him up i say, along with the Shrewsbury guy, if he's on a free.
