If it was any other club, including Palace, I would feel sorry for them. Fortunately it's Pompey so for me it's :rave: time. I've bought a bottle of champers for the occasion. I really f***ing hate them, and their disgusting "fans".

It's really a win-win situation if they go bust:

WIN 1 - Finally a club known in the Premiership bubble goes out of business, meaning chairmen might finally realise they can't throw cash they don't have at their club

WIN 2 - Portsmouth, that stain on the south coast, finally f*** OFF.

I know there are plenty of people who disagree & feel sorry for the fans. I could lie & say I feel the same. I just don't. I really want them to go under

We were not stiffing local charities for their money. We were not driving local business to the wall. We were not paying players more than we could afford. We were not trying to hide money in foreign accounts. We were not rubbing our success in the faces of others whilst shitting on everyone around us.

f*** 'em. I hope they rot in the Wessex Blue Square Dog Turd League 48. Wankers.

We we we ? Is that the same we that sold the Goldstone and left the Albion in the shit.

Stupid post mate.
You have little control over the cnuts who run your club.

WE fought against the cnuts who ran our club and pressured the FA into taking action against them. Portsmouth fans have seen their club managed abysmally badly but (to the best of my knowledge) have done f*ck all. Why? Because they've been riding high in the Premier League and reaching cup finals. The chickens are now coming home to roost.

* Deal to exit administration falls through

Portsmouth unable to support continued trading

Key creditor Gaydamak demands upfront payment (adds new Andronikou quotes)

By Neil Maidment

LONDON, Oct 22 (Reuters) - English Championship (second division) club Portsmouth are likely to go out of business after a deal to remove them from administration was scuppered on Friday, the club said in a statement.

Portsmouth, who were relegated from the Premier League and reached the FA Cup final last season after a turbulent period financially, said the administrators "are unable to support the continued trading of the club".

Portsmouth said a deal to exit administration had been agreed by the new owners, the administrators, the Football League and the creditors but was then made "impossible to complete" by key creditor Alexandre 'Sacha' Gaydamak.

However, Portsmouth's administrator Andrew Andronikou said on Friday he still hoped to reach a deal.

Portsmouth said Gaydamak had been offered full payment for the secured part of his debt "in accordance with the financial plan approved by the Football League".

However, the club added that he "has demanded a very significant up front cash payment in order to allow the deal to proceed by releasing his security."

"All other parties had managed to reach agreement," read the club statement.

"This has now been undermined by the self-interested actions of one individual. Mr Gaydamak has provided confirmation several times that terms were agreed. However, he has continually changed his position in an attempt to exploit the goodwill of the other parties to the transaction."

BROKEN PROMISES

The statement continued: "His earlier comments when the club went into administration about doing everything possible to save the club's future do not appear to reflect his current actions."

Gaydamak, who owned Portsmouth between 2006 and 2009 and celebrated an FA Cup triumph in 2008, sold the south-coast club to Sulaiman Al Fahim after which it changed hands several times.

In February, the club went into administration and its debts have since risen to about 120 million pounds ($188.4 million). Their most recent attempt to exit administration was vetoed by the Football League in October.

Despite Friday's gloomy statement, Portsmouth administrator Andronikou told Sky Sports News a decision on the club's future would have to be made by Monday or Tuesday next week but he would be seeking a resolution before then.

"I need to have the other party (Gaydamak) around the table on Sunday to have this matter resolved," he said.

"We are in a desperate position... We can't just continuously ignore the matter that this club needs to exit administration as soon as possible."

After a poor start to the current campaign, Portsmouth have won four of their last five league matches and sit 15th in the 24-team standings after 12 games.

They can all go & watch the Saints play instead.

When the Albion lost their ground there was ho other team to go & watch within approx. 50 miles.

Well we can always hope for a reversal of that trend; and a first step would be the downgrading of "football debt" so the other clubs have something to worry about. The leagues are never going to see there is a problem if they always get their pound of flesh first.

I would never condone Portsmouth football club on how they have run their business over the last few years but I have to say that reading some of the shit that some of you have written on how you will laugh if Pompey go out of busines saddens me it really does.
I remember plenty of Pompey fans standing next to me at Fans Utd.

As I said, I could lie about it. But they're literally the ONLY team I want to see out of business, and it could be beneficial for the game in the long-run if such a team was to go. Not particularly proud how I feel, but that's the way it is

Are the situations the same?

What do you think about the Leeds situation?

I feel bad for the fans because yes they gloated to a level not seen before but they are a tin pot club that won the oldest football competition. OBVIOUSLY gloating on their level was to be expected but I won't begrudge the fans that.

However rules is rules and rules say they have to go. Cos dem is the rules. And dem rule can't be brok... oh wait.

Same as. I don't understand how people can't see the comparison between them and us. Both f***ed over by bad owners.

And on what grounds where the Pompey fans supposed to demonstrate against their owners. That they were attracting top players and winning the F.A cup and getting into Europe.

How do fans know that a owner is running a club into debt. They dont know the wealth of these people who take on the running of their club. Its always easy afterwards to say all this but did we as a club complain when Bamber was overspending and leaving us a huge deficit that it took years for us to catch up on. Wages had not gone as mad then as they have over the last ten years but we could have got into even more shit had we actually won the cup in 83 and bought in even more expensive players to fund our European campaign.

To think after reading the bile spewed out on this site towards Saints and Pompey you might come to the conclusion that we have some sort of inferiority complex.

I think Pompey are utter TWATS to be honest

What did the FA try to do? They tried to freeze their transfer window because of their financial problems, but Pompey fans started crying about the fact that they would not be able to get new players, meaning they won't win any games, did it really f**king matter if they were either going to try and survive financial difficulty and take losing games over losing all their money altogether by paying for players they could never afford?

Yet again Portsmouth shows its ignorance to the whole of football.

I feel sympathy, but my patience is being really tested by how Portsmouth are yet again in trouble but will find some half arsed way of being the 'popular south side' team again. While Brighton would have just been obliterated from the football league if it did some of the things Pompey have done in the times of us losing the goldstone.

No. It's really not rocket science, is it? However, that's clearly beyond some people.

I'll tell you how this looks to non Brighton folk and outside our bubble, not only to Pompey fans who despite club rivalries may have supported us in the past, but to many neutrals.

Brighton fans get f**ked over by crooks, nearly go out of business, lose their ground, get a lot of sympathy and support from other fans, long fight, get lucky with a chairman, even luckier with another one, get their ground, it's a great story.

Pompey fans get a series of dodgy owners, live the dream for a while, unbeknown to most supporters it was all built on financial sand, they get f**ked by former owners, never get the ground promised, are on the brink of going bust, Brighton fans think its hilarious and gleefully dance on the would-be corpse. It's disgusting.

To think that fans of other clubs might read some of the comments on here, including Pompey fans who might have been at Fans United, I think its the only time I've ever been embarrassed to be a Brighton fan.
