And Kluivert has a foot like a traction engine. They have a superb head coach. Their squad on paper is nothing special, but he’s got them so well drilled. We really couldn’t have had many complaints if we lost tonight, their counter attacking was liquid football
Apparently the rivalry started 55 years ago.Nice club yeah but there's definitely a chance of a pretty fierce rivalry developing eventually if both keep being the main candidates for "best of the rest".
Surely 53, when we beat Ted Macdougal and co to promotion from div 3 in 1972?Apparently the rivalry started 55 years ago.
I was quoting a post by @WeststanderSurely 53, when we beat Ted Macdougal and co to promotion from div 3 in 1972?
The one negative that many may have not seen last night was our old boy Tommy Elphick being a right pain on their bench. Up and down and in the 4th officials face an awful lot about very little!Good team, likeable players, no cheating, decent fans. Nice club. Loving the rise of the "non big 6"!
Great thread and post. What a brilliant opponent tonight.
Always threatened.
Pat on the back to them.
It’s the Bournemouth way…The one negative that many may have not seen last night was our old boy Tommy Elphick being a right pain on their bench. Up and down and in the 4th officials face an awful lot about very little!
Great player, but we made it easy for him by showing him on to his stronger foot. And Kluivert has a foot like a traction engine.
Astonishing that people are still moaning at the ref. He made a few mistakes, but not many. Meanwhile he managed to let a very physical game flow while retaining complete control of the players. I'm calling it as one of the best refereeing performances of the season at the Amex.Glad everyone saw it. Two superb teams. Our best win of the season. Our best half of the season too. Superb win. Although Oliver also played for them the prick.
Not forgetting giving us a penalty that we'd be up in arms about.Astonishing that people are still moaning at the ref. He made a few mistakes, but not many. Meanwhile he managed to let a very physical game flow while retaining complete control of the players. I'm calling it as one of the best refereeing performances of the season at the Amex.
That and all their coaches running out in unison to clap every header or attack in that "I'm leaning forwards to show how much it matters, but only forced onto my feet because what you did was so sublime" again and again. Knobs. It’s the Bournemouth way…

We've had history with them for over 50 years. They're in the same bin as Reading and to a lesser extent, Luton and Swindon.I can't be the only one to not really care anything much about Bournemouth can I? I disliked them intensely in Smug Eddie's days but that was mostly down to him and some poor officiating at Withdean and Falmer. However I have never once met a Bournemouth fan and from my part of Sussex, Bournemouth is actually 2 miles further on the quickest route than Oxford. Meh.
They are a great team atm and maybe deserved a draw last night.
And we gave him two defenders to show him inside. Very generous of us.Great player, but we made it easy for him by showing him on to his stronger foot.
Good strike nonetheless
Spot on, oliver is one of the best refs around and I thought did a great job in terms of not stifling the game and trying to play advantage.Astonishing that people are still moaning at the ref. ‘Destroyed’ is stretching it. The difference was 0.9, and almost all of that is the penalty.Weirdly, we destroyed them on xG.
They seemed like they threatened us a lot but they didn't have a lot of huge chances, just a lot of the ball and quick players.
All very true, but…….What a brilliant opponent tonight.
Always threatened.
