Entitled to your opinion HWt. I like him! An Eton Tory who can win in a Labour city has a certain je ne sais quoi

My question is this. Why doesn't any true self respecting British man or women want their country's sovereignty back, their country's ability to govern themselves and their country's ability to trade with the rest of the world. It just baffles the brain how some people are content with being dictated to by a bunch of unelected fools. Roll on independence day 23rd June
You are kidding right? Every survey of Tory membership shows them as massive outers. Google it, I'm not your unpaid helper
Yougov did a poll on this last year
https://yougov.co.uk/news/2015/09/22/eu-referendum-state-public-opinion/
43% of tory voters would vote IN
48% of Tory voters would vote OUT
whilst this is indeed a technical majority,i think its fair to say its pretty evens and not what you have been suggesting
boris has gone up in my estimation. any man who's prepared to put country above party is a friend of mine,
My own view on the path of the vote:

"I would say that a majority of people have great reservations about the authority, power and construction of the European Union. A heavy and suffocating layer of an already top heavy and un-sociocratic process of legislation on our existence. This is not say they are anti-Europe, I for one am pro, but they are concerned that a commendable prospect has become an ugly product. Yet despite these heavy doubts they will still vote to stay. Why ? Simply because they not racists or xenophobes- and they are also fearful of what this nation will be like socially and economically hence."
People that vote to leave are racists and xenophobes??
please tell me i have read this the wrong way.

No you haven't. It's the sort of muck-slinging that will be coming in from the 'In's right up to polling day. It's starting already.............................
See post #136. It's not what I'm saying. Quite the opposite. My view is that most who want to leave have legitimate concerns which may be undermined by xenophobic arguments from a vocal minority.
.'The problem that the ‘leave’ campaign will have is the headlines that will undermine its argument that their campaign is not that of Little England- and doubtless for most it isn’t.'
O.K. I accept the point you're trying to make is completely different to the one that is perceived by those who read it, but your final sentence is a shocker:
You have to red it carefully - three or four times - to establish which way you are arguing!
I guess the confusion arises by me suggesting a way in which the 'leave' campaigners can win the vote, even though I'm part of the 'In' camp. That's simply because I do understand many of the arguments that are being brought forward and would hope they get the chance to fully represent them without being derailed. It needs a proper debate without the mud slinging. I respect those who have concerns about the EU because I share some of them.
