Yes look at the size of our council tax bills now and we will pay to drive soon as well.

Are we paid in line with all these extra taxes ?

We save a bit on poll tax...

Wouldn't a simple, "sorry but I beg to differ" have sufficed? ???

I just took great exception to that blanket insult against Livingston, which was ill thought out and wrong. Nazi views? he used an un PC insult against someone..

And can Yorkie please get off her high horse, it wasn't an opposing view I disagreed with, it was an opposing lie.

In truth I should have replied with more eloquence and less profanity, but then again, did the original post warrant that effort?

I think not.

Its not always about the politics,I have met and liked many tory people and even voted once for a tory MP
Norman St john Stevas..Barron St john of Fawsley because he was the best man for the job and the labour man was a prat (proof was that thatcher sacked him as soon as he stood up to her)
thatcher hated the working class simple as that she thought they were scum until they had to go and fight for her husbands money projects in the falklands/south atlantic

and if thatcher had been leader of the labour party I would still love to dance/piss on her grave.

PS I also had a lot of respect for Edward Heath

maggie wouldn't have put up with it

There were no riots in London when Thatcher was lording it. Must have imagined those riots in Brixton.:jester:

True, I could never bring myself to vote for either Steve Bassam or Ken Bodfish, were I ever given the opportunity.

There is nothing, and I mean nothing, in the entire world more depressing than someone who genuinely believes Thatcher was a force for the good in the world. :(

And on another one of Race points - pensions.

Don't forget it was Thatcher's government that removed the link between the basic state pension and earnings. Granted, the Labour government should have reinstated it by now, but it wasn't them that removed it, so don't blame them for the current state of the pensions....

They get a lot of the blame - they were told the Castle plan was too expensive - it was, that's why they haven't tried to re-link it.
And thanks to Gordon they are currently taking £5billion a year in stealth taxes from pension schemes, which are closing left right and centre and will leave you and me with less pension.

Yes, by the West Pier

He also went "WELL ALRIGHT" in a pre election rally the Labour Party did in 1992, when the polls were predicting a Labour victory. It has been cited as one of the main reasons they lost.

race, sorry but HOW THE f*** does Ken Livingston have Nazi views?

that is probably the biggest shit i have ever read on this board aside from FG/Ernest posts.

He didn't see Mandela as a terrorist when lovely Thatcher did...just remember that!

didn't see Gerry Adams as a terrorist either did he.

And if you think that was the worst shit you've ever read on this board then you don't read it very often.

I probably should have added, from a usually agreeable person.

I think the residents of Kensington and Chelsea can afford the congestion charge, don't you?

Typical stupid left wing view. Charge them because they can afford it! They have lots of money, so lets try and take it from them.

Yes, that's him. He got caught out by a tiny wave. He went to the edge of the sea, and didn't except a wave to come up the beach! To be fair though, it could happen to anyone who is stupid!

And people say it was a shame this man never lead the country!!!:lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

Given a choice between raising council tax for the whole of London, or putting into place a charge that also improves congestion, I'd go for the latter. I live in zone 3, and it's bad enough this far out.

I'm so sorry if that makes me "typical stupid left wing".

But........if you keep taxing the rich then they organise their affairs so as not to pay ANY. Why do you think the French and Scandinavians like to be tax domiciled in the UK? Better not to bleed the rich dry otherwise there won't be any rich left.

Simple really if only you'd give up the socialist dogma.

Don't see how people have voted for Blair, the bloke is a self obessed cretin who is covered in spin. He is more interested in earning millions from his lecture tour round the us than he is from sorting this country out.

Crime is out of control, despite what the offical figures go on about.
The police are more interested in earning money from speeding cars etc than actually sorting real crime
The NHS is in crisis despite the fortune that has been spent on it, but yet the gov. still refuse to say they have got it wrong, just ask any nurse or doctor
The war, not going say any more on that
Giving more and more powers to Europe
Asylum
The education system isn't exactly in the best state.
And i'm sure people will add more

Expect people to disagree and say he is greatest thing ever but quite how is beyond me.
