Blair

Devolution for Scotland, Wales and even Northern Ireland
London elected by PR, maybe even more on the way for local governments
The freedom of information act
Equality laws, including stopping discrimination in the armed forces
Abortion Rights
National Statistics once again being independent
Reduced Poverty

devolution that we pay for...and have no say over their parliament, although they get a say in ours
london mayor who is an embarrassment to the country with his nazi views
freedom of information act that has been abused, not to mention the human rights law, which he claims as his biggest legacy, but turns out to be the single most harmful law to ever be thrust upon us(although his missus earns a nice crust out of it)
equality laws that only seem to operate one way
national statistics that are doctored in a way that would shame robert mugabe (which, while we're on the subject, judging by the governments silence on this matter shows their true colours)
lawless streets
gun and knife crime soaring
pensions f***ed up beyond repair
he should be done for treason
:clap2: :clap2: Lets not forget taking our armed forces into a war, that really has f*** all to do with us.

Blair should be tried for the manuslaughter of every British Solider killed in the Middle East.

Maggie all the way for me. I fail to see why people hate her so much. She basically said, if you work hard and look after yourself, we will look after you. To all the f***ing soap dogding left wing labour wankers, she said if you want to sit in and live of others, then you can rot.

What's wrong with that. She closed mines, which were costing the country billions, which put thousands out of work.... so what.

I very much doubt she did it to piss people off. It was a hard decision, but a decision that had to be made. I notice this ****ing government hasn't reopened them. I wonder why? It was costing us millions, so she put a stop to it.

Poll Tax? We all hated it, me included, but is it that unfair? When you think about it, why shouldn't everyone pay towards council services? Personally I would like to see council taxes abolished and pay more income tax. But off course that will never happen.

Anthony Eden was my favourite, he was our last Prime Minister before we became the 51st state of the USA under MacMillon.

race, sorry but HOW THE f*** does Ken Livingston have Nazi views?

that is probably the biggest shit i have ever read on this board aside from FG/Ernest posts.

He didn't see Mandela as a terrorist when lovely Thatcher did...just remember that!

he has absolutely wrecked london. some areas are no go. you cant go out in hayes of a night time without being under threat of violence from somalians and all he's worried about is widening the congestion charge zone.
maggie wouldn't have put up with it

He DIDNT know the reporter was Jewish!

We all are concerned about Global Warming, but apparently, if it's a stick to beat Ken with, it's fair game. I think the residents of Kensington and Chelsea can afford the congestion charge, don't you?

Somalians now is it? Remember 1993? Now they are the fault for everything that is happening!

I live in London, a friend of mine is from Lewisham. Whatever his faults, Ken is TRYING his best.

What would have Maggie done eh? Introduced something like Section 28 no doubt?

Because she really helped ease the tensions we saw at Toxteth, Brixton, and all across the country.

I'm not sure what exactly to say here. I also like Ken Livingstone, but to be honest that's entirely irrelevant. Race, you used Ken as a reason to attack Blair, and I'm not really sure why.

Tony Blair didn't appoint Ken Livingstone, infact they really didn't get on at all - Ken was first elected as an independent after walking out of Labour remember?

But even that aside, my point was that Blair introduced the system that allowed Londoners to elect their own mayor - and that is a good thing.

And on another one of Race points - pensions.

Don't forget it was Thatcher's government that removed the link between the basic state pension and earnings. Granted, the Labour government should have reinstated it by now, but it wasn't them that removed it, so don't blame them for the current state of the pensions....

Wouldn't a simple, "sorry but I beg to differ" have sufficed? ???

People can't discuss politics without getting very wound up. If another's opinion is different then it must be wrong. :dunce:

Yes look at the size of our council tax bills now and we will pay to drive soon as well.

Are we paid in line with all these extra taxes ?
