Recency bias (and drunken bias), but I think Mitoma’s goal was even better than Enciso’s. That touch was so sublime. Which then got me thinking, has there been a better Brighton goal? I’m talking purely for skill (not excitement, like the Virgo play off goal or Ulloa late play off gaining goal)
Unless you have seen every Brighton goal ever then impossible to choose.

Last night’s goal was one of the best goals in premier league history, as Neville was saying on Sky it was Bergkampisk and up there with the sort of thing Messi does. The ability to take a 60foot punt, control it (with defender beside you) turn inside defender and place into corner was magical

This one left an indelible impression on my memory if only for its performative value

As mentioned, Gary Nelson Cup tie goal carving through the length of the field through half a dozen Brentford players - probably one of Brighton’s GOAT goals.

All the above mentioned goals by other posters and yes, Mitoma’s sublime first touch on Bart’s assist setting himself up for a goal that deserves to be seen up there with the best.

From memory Nelson still had a bit to do to score, I think he was wide and still on the edge of the box when he lashed it in the top corner....or is it playing tricks on me?

Stoke away. Izquierdo. Still the best goal I have seen us score.

And one for the old boys. Gerry Ryan scoring a similar goal to Mitoma, with fewer touches at the Goldstone. Might have been in a big win v. Chester/Charlton?

Talking of Izquierdo… his goal at WHU and then the exact same goal against them at the Amex (“He’s f***ing done it again”) deserve a mention.

Neither as good as Mitoma’s though. That has to be in the running for PL goal of the season.

Case FAC semi final.
Enciso ManC.
Andone …. astonishing, changes of pace to fool the goons, the context of sealing a win with 10 men against the enemy.

My choice … Andone’s. From 1:29.

I was also considering Case at highbury!

Away at Stoke about 10 years ago, in the days when I used to watch hesgoal, I think it was Izquierdo. An amazing dizzying sequence of one-twos that cut right through their defence, culminating in an emphatic drive into the corner of the net to make it 0-1 to us. Unfortunately Shaquiri ended up equalising in the dying minutes.

Edit: found the video. It was in 2018.

Far too many possibilities.

Team goals, individual brilliance, smashes that could end up in row Z....

That Rohan Ince one was special.

What about that end to end one a good few years back at The Amex, attack from the Norff all the way to the Saaarff in seconds, Murray?

I can’t think of a better individual goal. The touch to bring the ball down out of the sky slightly away from a top quality defender so he had no time to fully react was sublime.
