I've had great nights watching the Undertones, Fratelllis, Stranglers, Bowie and many others.

I've had fantastic nights watching Arcade Fire, U2, Queen, the Killers

but my vote has to go to Muse. They blew me (and 150,000 others) away at Wembley and to prove it isn't all just technology and video screens, they did it again in April at the Royal Albert Hall - just the three guys and their kit. Two nights I'll truly never forget.

In a pile of football shirts
Springsteen 2 consecutive nights at The Brighton Centre, May 1981.

Was that the show when he was completely pissed and couldn't string a sentance together? I saw him there around then, and it was pretty shoddy really.

Currently I would give a shout for Gogol Bordello. Catch them if you can.

I would agree with that. The Polyphonic Spree and !!! are both amazing live too.

But best live band ever would have to be Gang of Four.

Please send me evenings and weekends...

Any of you other oldies remember a band from about 1981 or so called Furious Pig? Saw them supporting the Monochrome Set once, and their live show consisted of (I think) three blokes making farting noises into long cardboard tubes for half an hour. Marvellous scenes.
