Not going to list all the great ones (in my opinion) that Ive seen, but I rang several people the other week and said 'I think Ive just seen the best gig Ive ever been to..'

It was Nick Cave at Hammersmith.

Ah Big Apple, above the old Regent Cinema! I remember it well, I would add The Kinks to your list there though and I remember seeing Emerson, Lake & Palmer at the same venue.

I also recall seeing Family at the Brighton Dome in 1970, my first ever rock gig.

Didn't see the Kinks but was at the other two. Did you have trouble with your hearing after the ELP gig; don't think I heard much for a couple of days?
