If ****wits would stop lighting fires the visuals wouldn't be anything near as bad.

Police and arson squad just rounded up 24 people suspected of starting fires.

That's not even the totality of people they have brought in.

The biggest issue for this continent is water, which there is plenty of if bureaucracy would invest in pipelines from the north of Western Australia.

Cut foreign aid for a few years.

We spend around 4 billion per year on that which if redirected for 3-5 years could pay for such infrastructure.

Actually the infrastructure is in place to move the water via river systems. The problem (or at least part of it) is that the water is being used/stored by foreign owned cotton farms in queensland so doesn't flow down to NSW, Victoria and South Australia.

Doesn't have to be just Victoria. It can be used to service multiple states and regions. That amount of water could revitalise regional areas where having a regular source of water would make those areas far more liveable.

Classy.

I certainly wouldn't support turning it into a race/nation issue. There is no benefit in deciding who is more deserving of our resources based on....... well what ever you have based your decision on.

However I do not subscribe to the idea (as i see it) that our resources are for sale to the highest bidder/our politicians cronies. I would like to see a few things being prioritized over the chance to make a quick buck. Off the top of my heads these would be: the environment; the needs of the people and the safeguarding and future proofing of the country.

I don't really care where a person is from if they can tick these and similar boxes I would be happy to work with them. Sadly i don't believe that many of our our investors care about these thing any more than foreigners.
