If anyone has family or friends that need somewhere to go and can get to Geelong, I have a bit of room in my house and can set up a tent or two in my back garden. Put them in touch with me and we can sort something out.

Good call Sir! More SE burbs of Melbourne but a spare room if anyone needs it.

So it has nothing to do with “green lobbyists” then and everything o do with climate change and people’s willingness to ignore the obvious in order to carry on living however they want. No matter the cost.

Wilful ignorance will sink this planet.

The military evacuating people off the beaches in landing craft onto carriers.
This is it folks, this is the beginning of the end. The world as we know it, it’s over.

A sad and tragic image for sad and tragic times. Australia is, like we were until 35 years ago, over reliant on coal, however, what do they do instead, they can't just cripple their own finances . . . . Having an American evangelicalist PM certainly won't help. Aus is the prime place for solar investment and renewable infrastructure, loads of space, loads of heat and loads of sun, plus shit loads of waves coastline.

For the meantime, **** tourism, no ones visiting while you're on fire!

If 1% of the outback was covered with solar panels they could power half of Asia. They have flat land, loads of sun, no earthquakes and its politically stable democracy.

Yet they seem hell bent on expending coal production at a time when they should be diversifying into alternative fuel sources, its clear the resources section has Scott Morrison in their pocket.

Jeremy Clarkson weighing in with typically dickheadish comments, claims ‘God is embarrassed’ by Australia ‘because he’s decided to set fire to it’. What an absolute COCK. Tho I guess we all knew that already

Sadly in early December Anthony Albanese (the opposition) loves coal as well.

I liked the bit about the experimental animals

I suspect he just likes upsetting people.

Christ you're a know nothing.

A small tourist town surrounded by shitloads of forest so of course moving people via the sea was the best option.

Can't wait for your next take on things here. It's so enlightening.

Plenty of diversification going on. Wind turbines are popping up all over the countryside locally here.

So to say "they should be diversifying" shows you have no idea what you're talking about.

#scottyfrommarketing is my favorite hashtag.

Sadly I am sure people will continue to believe the spin and vote for people destroying the planet. Scotty from marketing is now beginning to blame the NSW state government as well as the greens.

Peter Van Onselen is a conservative political journalist and expert over here. Worth following on twitter as he dismantles Scotty from Marketing's performance.

Morrison will likely not see out his term of office but, sadly we will be provided with another PM and the Liberal's will still do little about the issues that have exacerbated this disaster.
