But back to the point, the club are shooting themselves in the foot by getting rid of this.

Apart from anything it promotes the club and Falmer in a great way so who is gaining from them continuing this?

First point, don't faint, but I actually agree with you.
Secondly, everybody loses.

Didn't ATFPT start because the club got funny about Natterjack answering questions? Now the club is getting funny and not answering them. Can we go back to natterjack now?

Fair point. Also I would imagine pissing on people in Swansea is fairly common so he has all the credentials.

No surprise he wanted NSC moderated better - if he had his way, everyone on here who swears would have a 3 month ban.

Presumably if he used the word "piss" loudly enough he would have to ban himself?

Aren't some of you overstating the importance of the ATFPT section?

Most of the questions are cosmetic - things that aren't going to really affect anyone's decision to go. Most questions of significance are either unanswerable because of privacy or whatever, or are just not finalised and will be revealed in the usual ways when they are.
Anyone who has access to ATFPT likely already know as much about the stadium as they need to know.
Seriously, does anyone think there are people out there that either don't know about falmer and will never find out without ATFPT, or people that haven't decided if they'll go and can only make up their mind after using ATFPT?
It has been mentioned on here many times, that as significant NSC is to the behaviour of many of us as fans, it isn't so significant to the tens of thousands of fans that Falmer is hoping to attract. We are but a small section of the fan base, any other method the club uses to get word out will be covered here anyway (club texts, club websites, argus, fan forums etc.. all get covered on here)

It is a... I don't want to use the word privilege... it's a non-essential service. It is something we fans can do without, and were doing fine without, the club don't need it to get the word out. If the thing is being hijacked by one topic that has been answered as best as they can/are willing to, and is descending into abuse, it's better off shut down.

Besides, we already know the steel has been ordered, what else is there to ask?

Non essential? yes
the 343 threads started there, however, suggest it is at the very least a very useful tool. The more routes of communication there are between club and fans is all the better in my opinion. Just because its non essential doesnt render it useless.

Have you read any of those threads? There were several asking about the pitch on the first two pages alone, there's someone asking if they can name the urinals, There's one asking what colour the window frames will be, ffs.

It's not a communication tool for the club and the fans, it's a trivia section. People get a little curious about the most irrelevant details, and use this to ask out of mild curiosity.

Anyone who thinks it's a link to the club, or a way to be heard by the club really need to get some perspective.

Point taken.... and agreed.

There are also some genuine questions amongst the guff, not to mention some good suggestions though. Like all usefull tools, its going to get misused by some. Such as my Mrs using my best wood chisels to open a f***ing tin of paint.

Is the right answer!

If you give divvys the opportunity to ask stupid questions then they are going to do it. Just go back through the questions and look at the quality of them! It's daft stuff like "what temperature are the pies going to be at Falmer" and "will we have a mural of Peter Ward's cock outside the ground". Quite frankly who cares!! Just let them get on and build and no doubt all of your questions will get answered in time!

Get rid of the Ask The Club board as well, plain and simply it's embarrassing!

For every daft question there is a sensible one though, just about. Like ask the club I am sure this saves the club time from ticket office staff etc having to answer stupid questions.

It's not Bozza that they are pissed off with. It was made very clear to me that it is me that they blame. Apparently, as a "friend", I was expected to intervene and deal with the personal abuse that was being directed against club employees.

Ken Brown spoke to me briefly about this - without going into any details - during the Falmer For All team's tour of the Stadium in mid September. Ironic really since, at the time, I had very little idea what he was talking about, because I had been away for two weeks with very limited access to NSC.

At the Oldham game, I spoke with Richard Hebberd (about a matter relating to REMF) and that was when he told me that he "wouldn't piss on me if I was on fire". I subsequently discovered that he had earlier aired his displeasure about me (and my failure to moderate personal abuse on NSC) to other people. The refusal to answer ATFPT questions started much earlier than any conversation I had with either Ken Brown or Richard Hebberd.

I agree with El Presidente's earlier comment. NSC is independent and not answerable to the Club. The moderators can't be held responsible for opinions posted here.

Coor blimey!

So its your fault? Your such a twat! I wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire!

:lolol:

Is it over something as petty as this? Jeeeeeesus christ. You'd think it was a pta meeting, a book club or some year 4 rivalry between two classes! f***ing hell.

Blimey. Well thanks for the info and I think that the personal face-to-face abuse from Hebberd to you was completely uncalled for. It does sound like he's in over his head, hence his childish over-reaction. (Sorry Everest I know he's your mate but I think he's in the wrong.)

But getting back to my original question ...... isn't there someone else who can do it? Or is Mr Hebberd's displeasure going to be allowed to sour club/NSC relations?

If you mean RH, I wouldn't say he's my mate. Far from it.
And in this instance I think he was wrong too.

Lord B, was it in the ground that he swore at you? I'm sure there are regulations covering that sort of thing.

I nearly didn't bother to read this thread as I have thought that to date the whole "Mouth saga" is a bit of a nothing but I am glad I did. To hold a job like RH's successfully needs, before ANYTHING else, the right temperament. You can't learn it, you either have it or you don't (I don't and I know it). A more clear demonstration that neither does Mr. Hebbard would be hard to make up.

So old mother Hebberd has got the hump and insulted a paying customer because he didn't do quite as he wished. Sounds like a bully to me. No wonder the stewards are so shit if he's in charge !
The thing with bullies is that sooner or later someone bigger and stronger or in this case with a bit more authority comes along and hopefully they will piss on him
