Criticise him if you will, but it's a great way for the fans to feel closer to the club by personally abusing one of their staff.
I'd be very surprised if it was only RH's decision to stop answering questions.

Ok, so one person (rightly or wrongly, childishly or under duress) has decide they're not going to answer ATFPT questions any more.

Surely there's more than one person who can do it though? They can't ALL be pissed off with Bozza?

Everything has a cause and a consequence.

The original cause of all this is the heavy handed behaviour of some (not all) stewards.

The consequence is the non-reply to questions on the ATFPT forum, after the decision not to censor threads just to appease some at the club.

On a separate note, a good proportion of the Albion fans stood throughout the whole match at Tranny yesterday, and the stewards didn't stare us out, didn't try to force people to sit down, and everyone got on fine. Those who wanted to stand stood, and those who wanted to sit, sat.

If this is true then you have to ask the question whether whoever took the decision at the club, understands that they are not important, but as with every business, it s the customer that is important. Can someone remind the club of this and perhaps have a word with Dick Knight who will remember the efforts that the customers made in the mid 1990's to ensure that there is a club that allows the person who made this decision to have a job with the club. End of common sense lecture.

The club should not respond to criticism of a member of their staff by cutting off one of the routes of contact with their customers. What they should have done was opened out more channels and perhaps invited some people from on here to discuss the situation. Sorry Everest whilst I understand what you are saying they have got this one totally wrong.

Then whose fault is it?

Mouth/stewards/abusers/mods/RH/club?

Maybe some of the above.
But one thing is sure, IMO, is that this will not blow over until threads stop appearing and abuse stops (at least).

That's effectively censorship. The club shouldn't be stooping to that level but addressing the issue that started the problem.

If it was just criticism, I'm sure he could and would have coped with that.
It's all the personal abuse that goes too far. If that hadn't have happened then I'm sure the forum would still be open.

Most of the posts, bar the 'petition' thread, have been criticism rather than abuse though. I think what some people see as abuse is actually criticism.

"I think Richard Hebberd is poor at his job, is dreadful at PR and should be held accountable for the actions of himself and his staff." = criticism

"I think Richard Hebberd is a f***ing idiot." = abuse.

Which they did, in THEIR opinion, when they banned Mouth.

Maybe the stewards did go OTT, but the club have to be seen to act on information, whether it's a warning or a banning. This situation warrented the latter, in THEIR opinion.
And whether we like it or not, it's THEIR opinion that counts.

That Hebberd though was chippy in some of his replies to say the least.

He was sarcastic to me when I asked if questions were being answered and this was a genuine question.

I just think he can't be arsed with it all and answering questions which quite often get repeated . He saw a chance to bin it off and has done.

It is a shame as to start with that forum was a bloody good place and a great link from the club to us

It's not Bozza that they are pissed off with. It was made very clear to me that it is me that they blame. Apparently, as a "friend", I was expected to intervene and deal with the personal abuse that was being directed against club employees.

Ken Brown spoke to me briefly about this - without going into any details - during the Falmer For All team's tour of the Stadium in mid September. Ironic really since, at the time, I had very little idea what he was talking about, because I had been away for two weeks with very limited access to NSC.

At the Oldham game, I spoke with Richard Hebberd (about a matter relating to REMF) and that was when he told me that he "wouldn't piss on me if I was on fire". I subsequently discovered that he had earlier aired his displeasure about me (and my failure to moderate personal abuse on NSC) to other people. The refusal to answer ATFPT questions started much earlier than any conversation I had with either Ken Brown or Richard Hebberd.

I agree with El Presidente's earlier comment. NSC is independent and not answerable to the Club. The moderators can't be held responsible for opinions posted here.

Compared to the abuse that the board, management and players get, it was relatively mild, but Insider doesn't throw his toys out of his pram, and does a superb service on ATC.

He didn't need to tell a very elderly and frail fan that he wouldn't piss on him though. Fortunately the fan is not playing with a full deck, so it went right over his head.

The comment, not the piss.
