T@ssers who get older, often remain t@ssers.

In my mid 20's I watched a daytime FAC semi final in a packed Lanzarote bar, when some cockney aged about 65 wanted to attack me because I was drinking a soft drink. His wife was so upset with his vile behavior. I remember having a pint poured over me for absolutely no reason in Bohemia in The Lanes, again some older bloke.
I wouldn't say I was a tosser in my 20s, more of a twat.

But as I've got older I've become a more articulate twat.

Twatism is very under-rated.

It's mentioned by the authorities, Cocaine now has high usage in males 50 to 65.
They need to be careful. It's a big factor in heart attacks. I knew a fit guy in his early 50s who had a cardiac arrest at a gig. He survived OK. I'm pretty certain he'd snorted coke that night because he used to joke about cocaine, and was the type. He quietened down a bit after that.

Some guy who was about 60+ threatened to stab someone with his pen knife on the way back from Chelsea in the league who was waiting for the toilet, loose cannons.

In fairness we’ve all shouted come on, raised our arms and generally tried to encourage those around a us to do likewise. If you’ve yet to, try it at the next match. You might even feel alive also
No offence, but after 40+ years of practice, I'll continue to support my team however loudly or vociferously as I like.

Sometimes I'll be joining in every song, and shouting and screaming at the referee or opposition for an hour and a half. Other times I'll be largely sat quietly contemplating the game, or discussing it with my son.

What I won't be doing is telling other people whether their chosen way to support is correct, and nor will I welcome such input from you, or others.

Cheers.

Same here. Not once in my many years of 'going to the match' have I shouted or waved my arms at others.

I don’t give a shit. You’re the one getting upset at others inc now me. Just saying loads of people the vast majority will have done it at some point and if you’re now of an older persuasion you’ve probably forgotten you once did. And if you truly never did then you’re probably the odd one out!

Then I'm also part of the 'odd one out' group ... along with thousands of others that don't form part of the 'vast majority' you're speaking on behalf of.

Haha.

I wasn't 'upset' in the slightest, at the chap last night. I simply thought he was a bit of a knob.

I'm not upset at you either...

The vast majority of us will have loudly supported the team but I think it's pretty rare for people to turn round and urge others to do so. I mean, the number of people who do that are a small minority. That said, I am in the more genteel East Upper. Here, such conduct would be frowned upon, I can tell you.

Rare my arse! You’re too old and crusty like me and have forgotten what you did when younger. It’s a passionate sport, if someone wants to shout come on and try to get others to join in, with limbs as per in a game like last night, then feck me if I don’t think that’s not just pretty normal as opposed to the forensic dissection of it being strange on here! But then NSC wouldn’t be NSC without such an amazing binfest offering over it. Love it!! 🤪

Old and crusty too. But also do check to see if you’ve a pulse.

It’s a passionate audience participating sport!!

We had a guy last night n WSU a few rows in front of us, who during a short lull in noise (early in the second half), turned to face the rows further back and commanded them to 'f***ing come on' (with lots of arm waving) -clearly feeling that we were failing to match his level of support.

Same bloke then got up and sloped off on 85 minutes to beat the bus queue.

The f***ing self-important twat.
In WSU? Crikey. I'm glad I stayed at home and watched it on the telly.

Can you come and say that to the two f*ns who sit near me who think their opinion is the only one that counts and are abusive if your opinion differs...

Old and crusty ... oh, ok. My resting HR is in the 50s which I'm very happy about.

I'm passionate, in my own way ... but 'I don't give a shit' (to use your earlier words) what others think of me as I don't give a shit what others do (within reason).

I’m sorry but your post is completely out of order. You do not need an apostrophe in “50’s”.

Quite depressing reading this thread especially today’s posts, sounds like we have some complete c***s in our fan base…..not sure what happened to sticking together.
I didn’t go away to Rome, my sons went and had no issues but I was talking to another lad that’s said he saw Albion fans attacking fellow fans on the concourse after the match ???
