A couple of clarification points based on replies to this.

They did tell me I was trespassing
They did tell me I was being denied permission to travel due to invalid ticket.

They did NOT give me a chance to buy another ticket
They did NOT ask/tell me to leave
They did NOT give me any warning they were going to physically remove me or give me a chance to leave if my own accord before doing so.
Also I was on my own and boarded the first, entirely empty, carriage

Just to add. I am currently looking for a solicitor in respect of this case so if anyone on here is one or can recommend one please do let me know.

Completely depends on exactly what happened. Rightfully the OP hasn’t posted here.

Far too many appear to accept it. Especially don’t upset the club etc. boo f***ing boo. If something is wrong it needs to be sorted
Have you tackled the club and upset them in any way? They do have a tendency to very much stay in their lane when it doesn’t fit their agenda.

No, what you makes you say that? I very much stand up for what I consider right. Last season I was enraged at Brentford when some steward asked me to empty my pockets and then proceeded to take my wallet and start to take stuff out of it. That is a total infringement I went ballistic and immediately called over the policeman standing behind. He agreed I was right but their policy. I wrote to all concerned and will not allow it to happen to me again. That is standing up for you rights.

On a separate note, I’m very glad you did, the Brentford searching policy was over the top, unnecessary, and despite me being on crutches, I was pulled aside and accused of being in possession of drugs.

Many GTR staff now wear body cameras, and I would suspect RPOs may be likely to wear them too. Might be worth checking/asking for footage from Southern/GTR.
They do. In another incident when I was refused boarding, because the game had finished over 2 hours ago?? I disputed this with the RPO who became hysterical and started screaming at me and waving his camera in my face yelling I have got you on film, repeating this fact several times.

On another separate note the head Brentford steward recently got sent down for noncing with a 14 year old girl. All the club did was not use the stewarding company for three games as it wouldn’t have looked good as they promote as a family club.
I know a Brentford steward and this head guy was a complete nutter apparently it’s a much better working environment for them now.

What’s this got to do with the club? Or is there a separate issue here?
Surely the club should be aware if their supporters are being harassed by a company they pay money to.

Trespassing seems an unusual accusation for considered to be in a train carriage without a valid ticket.

We’re you assaulted or removed from the train?

If it was the former have you reported it to the police?
Point of fact; being physically removed from a train, or being restrained, are both assault. They are a justifiable, legal form of assault. But an assault, nonetheless.

Surely to be legal, they need some kind of warning or proof that the assault was necessary as a last resort or something.

From what the OP says this wasn't the case. Does that bring into question its legality?

Ah, I wasn’t commenting on this particular case.

I was pointing out that restraint and removal is assault. Every time it is performed. By anyone.

It can be justifiable and legal assault but it is always assault.

Hard to know what happened in this case with no evidence or other accounts.
