That makes some sense but not really. The tickets were sold when the time was known. People don't attend things because of last minute circumstances - illness, family, something happening. Sure weather and traffic will play a part for some.Right from the outset it was explained that tickets would be £5 more on the day. If there was no price differential a greater number would wait to pay on the day with the option of dropping out because of the weather, traffic, TV, etc and saving money.
I'm not sure a fiver makes that much of a difference but on the day it might stop some from coming.
I understand dynamic pricing - it makes airlines like Ryanair and easyJet tick but I'm not sure the 4th round of the fa cup is relevant for that.
It's a moot point for me. The fiver psychologically is very mildly irritating but I can afford it. The bigger factor is the hassle of getting to and from the game in the cold.
More than willing to hear the stats from the club/those in the know that prove the opposite. I guess at one point in my life id chase the deal but in this case probably unlikely - we all know there will be seats available.
And aware that this is normal for football... I'm just questioning why. There's loads of seats left. Usually with a surplus you discount - which I'm not suggesting - but why would you increase the price for your stock when it becomes useless tomorrow..
