I would imagine the WSU will be open and you will sit in the seat you have bought.

There’s really no need for the club to tell you that.

I suspect the club merely want all remaining ticket sales to be in camera-facing areas.
Well with that they've lost one sale, because I was going to go with a mate, but since they won't be in the same stand, they won't be bothering now. At least it will look good on TV I suppose!

You'd hope that if you rang the ticket office they would be able to make a WSU seat available for your mate. However, it is more likely they will offer to transfer you to the East - especially if you are wearing that bright waterproof jacket - as you will be a great visual presence on the telly!

Surely this is a good indicator of the true depth of our support and answers all the questions why we don't need to expand the ground. Yes it is an incredibly bad time , yes there are two Chelsea games in quick succession but if there were a huge lot of people wanting to see the albion live but can't normally get seats then this would be a good opportunity to do so. Truth is we don't have a 30k+ fan base.

We don't need to expand the ground, we need to expand the shitty train service. Nobody wants to end up stuck in the arse end of beyond at (potentially) 11 o'clock at night. People are quite rightly voting with their feet for this one

The train service has been expanded between Lewes and Brighton though for this game, regardless of the train service, it’s the kick off time which is a problem.

Is the expanded train service flexible enough to lay on most trains in the case of extra time/penalties ie when they might be most needed? I'm thinking there's probably not much scope for re-jigging the service at 30 minutes notice. Would I be right in thinking they're taking a punt on the game finishing on 90 minutes?

Yes the shuttle service has been extended to until almost 1am to cover any eventuality.

Ultimately football is broken for fans now. TV rules because TV pays ridiculous money. All of which is given to the players by the way. It's a terribly broken system but can't see any reason why that will change in the future. All the time we are all willing to watch football on TV at home and still attend matches it will continue and the reality is cup games aside Premier League is sold out nearly all the time.

I'm a hypocrite because I moan about stupid kick offs, like ours at Nottingham tomorrow, but I still go and equally I quite like watching other teams on the telly at stupid kick off times.

As a fan going to the match I hate the late Sunday slot, but yet if I only watch one telly game at the weekend it will be that one. Ultimately it's all our own fault.

its a bit weird because when we were in the Championship there were plenty of late evening (19:45) kickoffs , maybe this is the 'perfect storm ' of crap circumstances

I'm not sure anybody really needs to worry about the late finish, the fact that the club have decided to take the ££ and turn it pretty much into a home match for Chelsea means the game will probably be over by half time

If it were to go to a replay I expect there wouldn't be a worry about as much, but with ET, people don't know what they're getting into.

Don't disagree with that but this game also (IMO) highlights where our support ceiling is.
i think it just indicates that all premier league FA Cup fixtures on the telly,in the evening just don't have the appeal of Premier League games.
Didn't we know that already ?

There will be up to 25000 Alibon fans there. Probably 15-20,000 given sales so 3/4 x as many. . . And why is it wrong for them to give Chelsea the permitted allocation ?

I thought we gave them what they were entitled to already

Edit: we initially gave them 4,915 which was 200 over the 15% and now we have given them 1,000 more so almost 6,000

Is it allowed to be more than 15% ? Presumably there's a block in the South Stand that's empty as a division between home/away fans ? so not the full 4,915 capacity ?
