Point of order, it is pretty telling that there is a lot more seats available in the North Stand than the East Upper or West Upper combined. North Stand fans not as "loyal"?

North Stand 1,844
East Lower 1,246
West Lower 1,160
East Upper 421
West Upper 385

Where's your loyalty North Standers??? Where are you? Les be aving you?
Perhaps highlight a lot of people sit there due to the price point, which isn't relevant for this one.

I imagine many are grabbing, with some relish, the super-rare opportunity to taste the much-talked-about, almost-mythical atmosphere of East Stand Upper.

Maybe.

As has been mentioned a few times in this thread, only the front few rows of the upper tiers are currently on sale.

This idea that our fanbase is flakey is absurd.

We are a provincial club and you only have to look at gates since the Amex was built to see that it's nothing of the sort. Even this game, with its stupid kick off time, stadium-specific transport issues, and being shown live on TV, it will still attract a gate of well north of 27k, maybe as high as 31k. I very much doubt any provincial club would have been much different in similar circumstances, even those with historically bigger support.
Yes.

What's flaky isn't the fan base.

It's the public transport infrastructure at our 'Sustainable Transport' stadium.

12:30/15:00/17:30 kick off time on the Saturday or Sunday, I would be paying my £25 and going.

20:00 kick off.

No.

You've done this for TV; so I'll watch it on TV, save my money and spare myself the aggro of the trains.

I’ve coming over on the train from Portsmouth. God help me.

I’m going to need to leave early to have any chance of making the trip back on the last train. If (when) the trains get cancelled I’m F*cked.

There’s always the Seagull Travel coach that serves Emsworth, you could book a return only

Presumably both clubs will have agreed to make it a 8pm kick off knowing full well in inconvenience it causes especially to away fans so if either club was that bothered about ticket sales they would of said nah bollox to that, obviously they didn't and preferred the TV Dosh and the adoration of millions worldwide watching ITV4 at 8pm on a Saturday night.
I don't blame anyone for staying away in the circumstances,as my TV keeps telling me Football is nothing without fans.
Righty ho then 🤣
Do they have a choice? Thought the TV companies select dates and kick off times. Only the Police can object.

But that’s exactly the point about a flakey fanbase. What people are actually saying when they mention cost / travel / kick off time etc as a reason for not going is ‘this game isn’t big enough to bother’ as if we are playing Burton Albion in the LDG Vans trophy. But we’re playing Chelsea in the 4th round of the FA Cup, 3 games from Wembley with our last chance of silverware left this season.

When people get frustrated with us being a stepping stone club that players and managers use to move on to the big clubs, this is part of the reason why. Because we just don’t have that large, fanatical fanbase that the big clubs do. Which is why we also don’t have as much money and will never really challenge the Big 6 for any period of time.

I’m OK with that, but people should stop moaning about players wanting to play for the big clubs over us if they can’t be bothered to show up for a game like this.
I think your take on this is wrong. Those clubs have a bigger fan base for sure - but that doesn’t mean that the individual fans are more fanatical or committed. Every Arsenal fan doesn’t go to every single cup game (especially one at 8pm on a Saturday, 6 days before playing the same opponent in the league). It’s just that on the days each Arsenal fan decides they don’t want to go, for whatever reason - there are a load more fans (and tourists) to take their place.

We have 30,000 - 35,000 fans. If some choose to pass up a game, there isn’t the same supply of eager stand-ins.

WSU now off sale completely. It's going to be lonely up there!

And ESU only the front 8 rows, and 1800 still available in NS.

Hopefully this will get across the message that 8pm kick-offs on a Saturday are killing football for Albion fans.

And it will get across the message that the tourist fans won't plug the gap.

I think the club are "comfortable" with the situation as it is. Sold less than 10K tickets to Albion fans for Chelsea at home in the 4th Round of the FA Cup. Nothing to see here...
