But that’s exactly the point about a flakey fanbase.
I think every Albion game this season has sold out, season tickets sold out with months to go before the start of the season with the highest ever renewal rate, every away game pretty much has sold out often weeks in advance. Even the midweek League cup games v Wolves, Crawley were c25K . Albion have filled the Amex for years now through the Championship and despite pretty poor form in the 8 years of the Premier League. Its rare that we win games at home.

Chelsea should be 25K+ or higher . I think it might get to close to sell out . Its 10 days away. Given the scheduling, the decline in the FA Cup, and that we've played Chelsea twice a season now for 8 years - that seems about right. Fine - some fans leave early, season ticket holders don't always turn up and there's a lot of moaning ha ha., But not sure all of that that means "flakey fanbase".

16 days ? More like 10 days.
Watched the brilliant Stand or Fall tonight - Sheffield Wednesday game got a special mention for its ‘best ever’ atmosphere… that game was on a school night with the threat of extra times and penalties but don’t remember fans worrying about ‘Travel chaos’ on that Monday night. Get yourself a ticket this could be another Amex classic
Nonsense. Completely different circumstances, situation and context.

So ok to support your club when it suits you ? This Chelsea game is Massive, obviously not as big as Sheff Wednesday game is but we are a top 10 team with a real shout of doing something in the Cups these days, the team need our support - I understand its a hassle to get home from but a lot of people just can't be bothered to make the effort and will just watch on TV :-(

Fuckin yes! 🤣🤣🤣 this is an hilarious comment. Going to the match is a leisure pursuit and there are plenty of others on a Saturday night going on that many have chosen instead. Get over it. Do not try and make it sound like the club is a new born baby and the fans are a single parent, We only got about 14,000 v Palace in the cup a few years back, by some miracle the club managed to survive this massive trauma.

But that’s exactly the point about a flakey fanbase. What people are actually saying when they mention cost / travel / kick off time etc as a reason for not going is ‘this game isn’t big enough to bother’ as if we are playing Burton Albion in the LDG Vans trophy. But we’re playing Chelsea in the 4th round of the FA Cup, 3 games from Wembley with our last chance of silverware left this season.

When people get frustrated with us being a stepping stone club that players and managers use to move on to the big clubs, this is part of the reason why. Because we just don’t have that large, fanatical fanbase that the big clubs do. Which is why we also don’t have as much money and will never really challenge the Big 6 for any period of time.

I’m OK with that, but people should stop naming about players wanting to play for the big clubs over us if they can’t be bothered to show up for a game like this.
Players move on for money and a pay day for their agents. It’s got nothing to do with how many fans are there.
Under the floodlights, they can’t even see them.

Eh? Just checked the club site for individual blocks in the WSU and it seems the seats there are for sale. Do you know differently?
All the blocks are for sale and currently have tickets available - but the back rows in the upper stands aren't on sale and are being held back for further down the line if the front rows sell out (according to post earlier in the thread via supporter services)

The TV companies are the villains here, not the fans, 2 games at 8pm in 6 days is taking the piss

And how does that money get there in the first place? By being a massive club. And you can’t tell me that players don’t care if they play in front of 30,000 or 60,000, of course it makes a difference. How many massive clubs in the world are there that only get 30,000?

I assume next season the exchange will always be open - they can't give fans a black mark for not putting their tickets on the exchange and then not try and sell those who have until the last minute
The ask - i think - is for tickets to be listed. You can do that whether the exchange is open or not.

Largely thanks to the income from TV companies especially in the UK (although owners like Bloom also subsidise spend) . Bournemouth have 11, 000 fans a week and are the 28th richest club in the world and seem to have some decent players.

Like what happens now, but it has to work both ways doesn't it from next season ???
in what sense ? Club aren't going to open the Exchange unless tickets are sold out. Not sure thats going to change.
Bit of a moot point anyway given all games sell out.

Presumably both clubs will have agreed to make it a 8pm kick off knowing full well in inconvenience it causes especially to away fans so if either club was that bothered about ticket sales they would of said nah bollox to that, obviously they didn't and preferred the TV Dosh and the adoration of millions worldwide watching ITV4 at 8pm on a Saturday night.
I don't blame anyone for staying away in the circumstances,as my TV keeps telling me Football is nothing without fans.
Righty ho then 🤣

A bit of advice if anyone's got any to give.

I bought my season ticket seat in the WSU. High up towards the back.

My 10 year old daughter now wants to go. I assume there would have been loads of tickets near my but its now all greyed out. I'm assuming closed rather than sold.

Do I a) sit and wait and see if seats near me come available.

B) contact the club and try and get tickets together elsewhere and cancel my ST seat?
