With all the fair weather brigade not turning up should make the trains nice and easy. Who would have thought that making the ko 15 mins later than a normal evening game would cause such an uproar.

As Palmer slots home his record breaking 5th, the trains should be very easy .

Has there been any communication of this? Or of what they are doing (if anything) with people who already bought there ST seats in WSU?

As the upper tiers are still open I'd guess that anyone who has already brought a ticket for their normal seat will be free to sit in. We might just have a bit more space around us now.

Brighton factually.....
Pretty poor to be honest, if we cannot fill the stadium for a cup game against a team we have recent history with.
Europe is a pipe dream, this is our only realistic chance of silverware, and we struggle to fill the ground.
Yes it is a shitty kick off time, Yes the trains and buses, journey back could be a pain, but Jebus it was only a few seasons ago, we dreamed of these kind of nights. The apathy is shameful, the excuses are what they are excuses.
The crowd lately have been dull, and I wonder if an element of our support are fickle and just can't be bothered. Chelsea are thoroughly beatable on our day, we seem to rise to the big occasion, this is the sort of game that could get your mojo back on track after the disappointment of Everton.

If the excitement of the FA Cup under flood lights, can't grab ya, you need to give your head a wobble.
The chance to take friends and family, who can't usually go, cheap tickets,

Get a grip and fill the stadium,

Proves how boring we are to watch this season at home.

Get a grip and fill the stadium,
Context is everything though:

- attendance is not cheap. Multiply by 4 is going as a family (“chance to take friends & family”) in a time of enormous economic cost and uncertainty

- playing them twice in a week, and we’re an established PL team (“we once dreamed..”

- silly spread out televised KO times, the monetisation of the game to erode Cup football by clubs and authorities themselves (“…if the excitement can’t grab you”) - why is this fans fault suddenly?

- transport is a major issue, compounded by the above.

- real fans know it’s not games against Chelsea that test your loyalty (…”dull fickle crowd lately”), and I don’t recall people complaining when I was at Stoke away on a cold January evening nor 2 seasons at Gillingham or 12 at Withdean. Nah, this game if anything proves the opposite and is for the tourists.

Done that, and yes I complained how shite we were, and how horrible the police were at the Victoria ground, but still went.
nor 2 seasons at Gillingham
Done that, and yes I complained how shite we were and how far away it was, but still went.
or 12 at Withdean.
Done that, and yes I complained about the rain, bad view, but still went.
Nah, this game if anything proves the opposite and is for the tourists.

I am going. As like many others, a friend of mine who lives in London and doesn’t get down to the Albion much these days has pulled out as he can’t guarantee getting home.
There is no reason that any game needs to be played at 8pm on a Saturday. The Magic of the Cup!

I don't get this particular line of debate.

Someone made it a week or so back on this thread. I intended to reply then but didn't get around to it.

15 years ago. almost to the day, we faced Aston Villa away in the fourth round. We were League One minnows having our big day out at a Premier League heavyweight.

We took, from what I recall around 6,000 fans. I bought thousands of balloons and handed them out in pubs surrounding Villa Park before the game.

But what that game meant then does not relate to how the same cup draw would feel today.

A couple of years ago, we drew Grimsby at home, two rounds later in the competition I fully concede, and we sold out at the same price point of £25 per adult ticket. I'd personally find a proper FA Cup kickoff time - 3pm on Saturday afternoon - far more attractive than 8pm, with the potential of the tie not concluding until 11pm-ish.

Come on, you can't expect everyone to keep forking out time after time, not when the club have just put STs up by more than inflation and all the other costs that attending games entails. People have a choice and should be free to make it without fear of castigation.

Agree, think it would be full/close to full at 3pm on a Saturday. If we get ET and penalties there will be hardly anyone there……but we know the TV choices never consider the attending fans.
