Member, not currently STH, and will be in Ko Samui that day.

As is the NSC norm, "Anyone know a good bar in Ko Samui showing the game?"

Having said that it'll kick off at I think 4am there so might have fallen asleep by then!

Around 7k tickets left to be sold with around 3k going today.

At about 19k home tickets sold and 5k Chelsea. Expect it to slowly top up towards the 30k mark but don't think it'll touch the sell out point. No general sale of tickets.
Did you add that up before or after the back rows in the upper tiers were removed from sale though ?

It’s not compulsory to attend, you make it sound like people are skiving off work
Each to their own I said. But I'd be willing to bet a lot of these issues would magically vanish if we were playing a European tie on a Saturday evening at 8. But you're right, it's not compulsory - if supporters don't want to (or indeed can't) come to support us in our effort to win a cup for whatever reason that's entirely up to them - I just think it's a real shame.

Mentioning a European tie is irrelevant IMO, as you know we are playing Chelsea at the same stupid 8pm kickoff time 6 days later, the same team we play twice a season. A European tie would maybe mean playing a team we have never played before.
There are plenty of honest examples (not excuses imo) from fellow fans on this thread mentioning why they are not attending.

I think it’s a real shame that tv companies can hold a gun to our clubs head and tell them they are putting on 2 matches against the same team at 8pm in the space of 6 days.
I also think it’s a shame these tv companies don’t give a shit about fans of the teams that are attending or wanted to attend both games.

Now waiting for email saying upper tickets have been moved to one of the lower tiers ......................
Now that would be a piss take! I oohed and aahed about having a change of scenery but then plumbed for my usual ST WSU on the half way

As an aside I note that ticketing link on the site is currently not available. I hope this is not indicative of some jiggery pokery :(

I presume you live in Brighton ? I'm in Dorset and 8pm on a Saturday night is totally out of the question.

I'm not sure it is irrelevant but it's an indicator that a lot of our fans perhaps pick and choose the games they put the extra effort to go to rather than automatically going to games regardless of the opposition. Again not a judgement, just an observation. Put it this way, not withstanding the MAJOR differences in getting to the ground, I suspect Newcastle v Chelsea at 8pm on a Saturday would be a sell out. I think we are just a more apathetic fan base now.

Would a Southampton or Leicester at home to Chelsea @ 8pm on a Saturday sell-out? I doubt it..

Many fans do put in the extra effort to attend league games, especially when they have a season ticket.
For example one of my sons lives in Portsmouth as he’s at university there, approximately 3 hours to get to the Amex on Saturday for the Everton match as there was rail replacement buses between Chichester and Littlehampton.
3 hours for a journey of approximately 50 miles. :annoyed: I’m not sure if there are rail replacement buses for the Chelsea cup game but I can understand why fans that don’t live locally are giving games a miss.

What's potentially even more irritating about the upcoming Chelsea fixtures is that our ' beloved ' Bobby might not be between the sticks for them. I was looking forward to a double helping boo fest! :)

I'm saving a mega booage for West Ham's brace of money grabbers.

I'm more concerned that Verbruggen doesn't get injured or sent off against Forest on Saturday - I wouldn't want to go into the Chelsea cup game with Killian Cahill between the sticks....
