Tbh, this is the job I've been most worried about, but I heard on the radio that Villa are expected to go after Paul Lambert.

Not in a gusillion years. He's here working on Project Brighton

Seriously?

If Villa came after him, do you honestly think he'd turn them down?

I don't, and wouldn't blame him. They are a sleeping giant, that even asleep, are bigger than I think we could become. I think it would be very hard to turn down.

If...... And it's a bif IF Villa come calling Gus will be gone in an instant. Villa have had a shit season but are still a massive club with a huge fan base. If Gus has any ambition to make it in the big time he would have to take that job. He is never going to get a top 4 job. So why would he turn down Villa? Any fan who really thinks that gus has blue and white running through his veins are delusional.

Yup seriously. If he left, I wouldn't blame him, but I'd be surprised.
I don't have anything concrete to back up my statement. Just a feeling.
EDIT: FWIW, I don't think AV will be interested in Gus anyway. Not when the likes of Lambert, Hughton, Rodgers are around

Brighton & Hove Albion is a much better job than Aston Villa.

In which case, I'm guessing you can rest easy that he's going nowhere, as I can't see a bigger club than Villa taking a chance on a guy who hasn't managed in the top flight. Personally, I think Villa would be too tempting. By Christmas he could have turned them round to a position that we can't dream of reaching in 5 years.

Gus could go there, not do very well and be sacked by Xmas. He would be a fool to go there when he has such a good thing at Brighton & he knows this.

If Gus has ambitions of managing a top Premier club then this is just the sort of job he's going to have to take on ... he isn't going from Brighton to Chelsea or Spurs so sooner or later he's gotta put it on the line I reckon

If they asked him he would leave. Villa would be a great progression for Gus, he's never gonna walk into a top 4 job and Villa are the sort of club who can get to that level just underneath them. They could easily do a Newcastle with the right manager and new players in.
