BH2008/00565 Update
(Stanmer Park road - widening and improvement of the single-track access road from the A270 Lewes Road to the entrance to Stanmer Park).

This is now provisionally scheduled for the Planning Committee Meeting on 9th July subject to the applicant (BHA) providing some additional information requested by BHCC.

That would be a good date as i can make that one too

Four from us Graham and one from within the city by my mum, that bore an uncanny :)whistle:) resemblence to mine.

Agree totally with LB's comments earlier - a really disappointing show of support from the club's fan base. 4300 registered users on NSC were spoon fed how to comment on the application leading to a total of 81 letters of support being submitted to BHCC - FFS!

How many posts do you reckon there'll be on here if Kuipers doesn't get squad number 1 this season - now that's REALLY important?

Are you still going to come down today? 2PM at Hove town hall

Just got back now Withdean extension APPROVED unanimous vote:thumbsup:

Great news. Sorry I missed you at the meeting; I was late arriving and got directed upstairs. If your car's a black Mondeo NU57 0** then I followed you out of the car park.

The new Planning Committee sounded very supportive of the Albion in my view; just some minor remarks/comments from Cllr McCaffrey(?) about noise from the tannoy, which was quickly shot down by the officers, and an observation that all the letters of objection were local and the letters of support came from outside of the city, London and even New Zealand!!
Semi-humorous digs from Cllrs Theobold and Wells about a 3 year temporary approval now running on to over 10 also but nothing to worry about.

Did you hear the "debate" about the demolitions at Falmer High School earlier? Bats, newts, scrub, McCaffrey wants a photo taken from the train and endless waffle about sprinklers of course. The senior planning officer tells them it's all down to Building Regs and not in their remit so seven more raise the point and want a comment attached to the approval - who'd be a council officer with this lot to look after?

See you on July 9th.

Yep that was me

Agreed thought all of the comments apart from the noise of the tannoy were VERY positive and like you say even that one was shot down very quickly

See you on July 9th.

The bits about Falmer high school were a bit petty for an outline meeting especially as most of it was down to the building regs (sprinklers now have to be fitted btw)

See you on the 9th

This is now provisionally scheduled for the Planning Committee Meeting on 9th July subject to the applicant (BHA) providing some additional information requested by BHCC.

Anyone who has seen the on-line agenda for Wednesday's planning meeting will see this is very full and the Albion application is not listed for consideration. 2008/00565 will now probably go before the committee at the next meeting scheduled for 30th July - btw BHA has responded to the BHCC request for additional info.

If the remaining planning applications that are due to be submitted in mid July are deemed to require an Environmental Impact Assessment, there will be a consultation period of sixteen weeks (instead of the 'normal' eight week period).

This could mean that they don't reach the Planning Committee until the end of November at the earliest - and possibly December.

A grant of planning permission would then be subject to an appeal period of a further sixty days, taking us until late January or February 2009 before the final go-ahead is achieved.

Hopefully this won't mean a delay to the start of work on site.

Seems that EIA's are required according to the Stadium Diary.

That's not so good then!!!

Hopefully if these are going to be submitted in the next 2-3 weeks it won't delay the December start date though?

I don't know for sure but these applications look to be related to "above ground" stuff - ie stadium and college building designs. The early jobs at Falmer will surely be site clearance followed by a lot of digging and chalk removal before you even think about pouring concrete or erecting anything?

Exactly!!!!! Why is the removal of chalk to the next field application not gone in yet?

I would have thought that this would have been the first on the list as that will be approx the first 6 weeks work? Especially if we need an EIA

They are now up on the 2nd floor of the new building on the uni site so all is well there!!

Do we know who is taking down the 4 old uni buildings? is it us or them?

Assuming the planning application goes to the council "in the next two to three weeks", it will be with the council by 1 August.

A sixteen week consultation period (needed because of the Environmental Impact Assessment) means that consultation will end on or about 16 November.

The Council officers then have to prepare a report to the Planning Committee. If they do this quickly, they might get it to the Planning Committee meeting on 3 December.

Assuming the Planning Committee grants planning permission, this will be subject to a 60 day appeal period ... meaning that the final go-ahead will be achieved on 1 February.

If the report doesn't get to the Planning Committee meeting on 3 December, the next available meeting is on 14 January. That would delay the final go-ahead until 15 March.

Are we taking the 4 uni buildings down or are they?
I'm not sure.

Demolition of the university buildings (and I think it's more than four of them) obviously has to be programmed into both the stadium scheme and the University's scheme to move into their new accommodation. My guess is that the Club and the University are talking about these issues.

There are no planning obstacles to jump through before demolition goes ahead.

So in a nutshell you are saying we won't be on site until March earliest?

Not at all.

None of this stands in the way of work starting on site to clear topsoil and start work on the widening of Village Way.

Stop worrying Graham or should I bring some Seroxat along to BH game tomorrow evening for you?:D
