The guy is a tosser.
And here's the proof.

Flair AND Bling in one go

I love AND hate Ade more and more

It had the potential to start a full scale riot. The danger is if he gets away with it it sets a precedent that a player can do whatever he wants when he scores. Will we see this celebration every week ?. Its utter madness.

Nonsense. Get a bit of ruddy perspective. The celebration was a bit sad, but not half as sad and pathetic as however many fully grown men thinking it was an excuse to pretend that they wanted to riot. What's madness is that these idiots are so pathetic and simple that they think it's perfectly alright to dish out a load of personal abuse to a player for a whole game, but then get uptight when he responds. They need to grow up.

Is this wankfest still going ?.

Easy, Arsenal fans were NOT completely over the top for reacting to it. This is what gets me all these BHAFC fans acting as it they would have acted any differently. I have been so incensed at Withdean a few times I have rushed to the track and been very close on many occassions to lobbing my coke bottle at the away managers head or a player that has wound us up and I am a pretty peaceful guy and never been in a serious fight all my life. You would have acted differently ?. BOLLOCKS.

Adebayor incited a riot pure and simple. It was premeditated for weeks with him wanking over the scenorio for weeks prior. Also Adebayor had been mouthing off and slagging off the Arsenal club and fans for 2 months before the game in any paper that would print his sob story.

His stamp on Van Persie was GBH nothing else. He should really be the subject of a Police investigation and 3-6 months in prison.

I will be hoping he gets a 12 match ban at least.

He is a UTTER C*NT.

This has to be a joke post, surely?

Is this a first for NSC. Simster, Bushy and me agreeing in one corner, and US and Das Reich in the other?

i'm with Sten on this. A lot of fans need to grow up, instead of using 90 minutes every week as an excuse to act in a c*ntish manner that they wouldn't dream of at any other time of their lives.

I have sent my CV in to join US and DR but in the interim need to perform some diligence so as to be fully informed. Just what sort of abuse did Adebayor receive from the Arsenal faithful?

Well said.
And Emannuel "give me the same money as Henry" Adebayor needs to sort his bloody life out as well.

don't think he needs to worry about the finance side of things! I found it quite funny really that he ran over to the fans after all the shi% they gave him (the micheal owen style powerpoint etc). I never saw him play like that for Arsenal.

The only thing that grates with me slightly on this issue is the following from Mark Hughes:

"...maybe we should cut him some slack when you consider what happened to him in his final season at Arsenal. That was the sad part for him. He really loved his time at Arsenal but for whatever reason he wasn't appreciated by their fans at the end and that is hard to take as a professional footballer. You want to be loved by your own fans..."

Can't help thinking Hughes is over-dramatising this a little- all that happened to Adebayor is that he got booed a couple of times. Are top level footballers (and Adebayor) really so emotionally fragile that they can't cope with a few boos from supporters? What would they be like in a real job??? And frankly he should look in the mirror a bit, as the only reason they had a go at him was because he appeared to be strolling around the pitch like he didn't give a shit and every other weekend was quoted in another foreign newspaper saying he'd love to be playing for Barcelona/Juventus/Milan/ Inter/Real Madrid etc. Are these players too blinded by their status and riches to see that respect and indeed love from fans is a privilege, not a right, that has to be EARNED?

I thought Murray was a bit of a plum, but to get dogs abuse from the fans just because he didn't 'respect' them by clapping them was pathetic and embarrassing......................IMO.

Not all the fans were clapping him before or during the game too.

Agreed not all the fans were clapping during him or before the game, but he got a good reception when he came on IMHO.
Perhaps some of the abuse might have been a bit vitriolic, but then that may have been down to the alcohol consumed before the game.

“People ask if I’m asking for the same salary as Henry. That is not necessarily the question. But I am being considered a worthy replacement for Henry while not deserving his salary. The question lies on this level. Either Arsenal give me what I want and I stay or they don’t and I leave.

Barcelona have made a good financial offer. Yes, I am still under contract to Arsenal but it’s up to the directors to satisfy my demands. Otherwise, I’ll leave. You have to take advantage of the moment. Why not go to Barcelona if the manager there already has me in his plans? That means there is a big chance of seeing me there.”

Yes Emmanuel, I wonder WHY Arsenal fans didn't think too much of some of your more indifferent displays last season. Funny that.
What we are dealing with here, ladies and gentleman, is a wanker. Plain and simple.

You disagreed with me earlier when I made a similar point ???
Slight difference - McGammon wasn't receiving the merciless abuse that Adebayor had received. Sure, there was gentle ribbing in McGammon's case, but it wasn't the nasty stuff Adebeyor was enduring.

Therefore, when McGammon scored, he had no real desire to run to our end and I think it would have been spiteful for him to do so. On the other hand, Adebayor has been unreasonably slaughtered for over a year by Arsenal fans - for being so "lazy" that he brought £25m into the club's coffers by leaving. I'd have had respect for him if he hadn't celebrated in front of the Arse fans, but thought it was quality entertainment in doing what he did, and perfectly understandable too.

He is indeed a wanker, but just for his general demeanour and attitude, not for his celebration. I don't blame the Arse fans for hating him, like I don't blame him for enjoying the chance to piss him off.

I'm being honest here, if one of our players scored a last minute winner at Selhurst Park, and ran three laps of the pitch before knee-sliding towards the Holmesdale end, screaming a couple of choruses of 1-0 To The Albion and You're Not Singing Any More, I would quite possibly die laughing before I even got out of the ground.

If a Palace player did the same to us, I would be massively pissed, I would *want* to punch him, but I wouldn't actually do it, as per 99% of the people on here. It only seems to be the likes of US who think we as football fans can't be held responsible for our own conduct when faced with provocation.

If you do chuck something at the pitch, you're a tool. Simple.

Not sure how you can call it unreasonable.
The guy was a complete nobody before he arrived at Arsenal. Then off the back of his first decent scoring season, he started demanding parity with Thierry Henrys wages (a bona-fide legend who'd just given Arsenal 8 OUTSTANDING years of service), or saying he was offski.

The bloke is a mercenary and a wanker and deserved the abuse he got for getting greedy and holding the club to ransome. He'd still be arsing around in the french league and/or picking peanuts out of poo in Tongo if it wasn't for Wenger.

Adebayor is a wanker. Thats been established and proved.
His behaviour on Saturday was that of a wanker, in my opinion. So he's just playing to form there.
And the Arsenal fans were twats for totally overreacting.
Now Mark Hughes has weighed in with some twattish, mealy-mouthed remarks.

NOBODY comes out of this well really, do they. :lolol:

As a matter of interest, how do you define mercenary here? Aren't 90% of professional footballers mercenaries, given that most of them play for teams for whom they have no personal connections.

And where's the cut-off point? How come Henry, at eight years' service, isn't a mercenary, yet Adebayor with 3.5 years, is? If Henry had played for five years, would that make him a mercenary? It's all rather arbitrary isn't it?

(and I don't think you can call Adebayor a 'nobody' before he joined Arsenal, he was playing for Monaco and was already a well-established international, that's a bit of history re-writing going on there)
