I guess it depends who you want to put first, yourself or the club you support. If you care more about getting priority for tickets than you do about the future of the club, then you really need to take a serious look at yourself.

So basically your argument is " dont worry about the standard of football you are watching, dont worry about the fact that even though you pump money into the club when needed, you are not rewarded by having first dip at glamour ties, and dont worry that there are many other people who may have the money to buy a season ticket, but just want to go to the occasional game" As you "care" for your club you stump up the cash come what may?

Interesting argument.

I agree totally

However for all the bile thrown at season ticket holders on here recently

Just out of interest Dave, where exactly is this bile that you refer to?

I meant as a STH i always put the future of the club as a priority. Not grade it on what the club give me in return. As far as i'm concerned, i pay for 23 games no more no less.

I think many season ticket holders will be having serious thoughts about renewing for next season, for numerous reasons but the West Ham ticket allocation for one and if just one season ticket holder got knocked back then that is one too many, no ambition on the pitch would be another and of course it is so easy to get a ticket now so why stump up £500 in March ?
It will be interesting to see what next seasons season tickets are going to be priced at ???

I think that season it was

Coppell Played 11 Won 7 Drawn 2 Lost 2
Booker Played 4 Won 1 Drawn 0 Lost 3
Total Played 15 Won 8 Drawn 2 Lost 5

We were around 6th to be fair when MM took over but had 3 defeats on the bounce.

We were 2nd when Coppell left after Rushden and Diamonds on 21 pts.
Booker had 6 games (1 LDV) with 2 wins and 3 defeats.
We were 2nd when McGhee took over for the Posh game on 27 pts.

I'm a STH for life. I won't ever turn my back on my club no matter what. If other people want to put the club in the hands of others and walk away then fair enough. But then these same people shouldn't moan when things start to go tits up.

I think the clubs PR for the big games, Bristol City at Cardiff, Spurs and West Ham has been shocking, the sth's are in the queue with everyone else and someone who went to the paint pot at Millwall for a one off game has the same rights as someone who know brought 2 st's for 8 years ???

He may have exadurated his point, but the fact is that the STHs are the most important people to the club at the moment and should be treated as such.

Save me trawling, there was various "opinions" - more extreme than Mr Happy S who did not understand or care to, the anger felt by STH's who although they followed the instructions by the club ie put envelopes in at the Swansea game ( and then have a club officer tell people they would definately get one). Its all very well people slagging off STH's as self centered etc etc, but at the end of the day, if no-one renewed next year, how long do you think the club would survive?

4000 STH at average of say 400 per ST = £ 1.6M When we are losing £500k per annum, that is something that cannot be lost.

To be honest I have no axe to grind. I got a ticket, however I am firmly of the opinion that STH's should be rewarded for their loyalty ( even that poor sod who has a 5 year ST didnt get one) surely that cant be right

BTW I know someone who got a ticket who has been to three games in his life and hates football - surely that cant be right can it?

And who exactly is going to pay £24 ???

To be fair that does include match travel aswell, so could argue that its only £20, which is the same price as barnet in league 2 in there main stand

And what if by getting down on it's knees for STH the club pushes away the casual fan, or new comers? The club won't survive on STH cash alone.

50% of any away tickets is fair for STH. When was the last time this was a problem? Spurs. Which was a whole season ago.

I'm not poor but quite honestly, I couldn't afford to take that view even if I had the time to be a STH.

We are having a job to get people to pay £15, so tell me how you are going to attract the supporters who may or may not decide to go ?
By declaring the season is over and it is not important ?

Dave, i missed out on Spurs last time around. So i do know how it feels to miss out on a big game. Yet instead of whinging that i'm a bigger fan than anyone else, i got my ass into gear and got a ticket elsewhere.

Sure the club f***ed up by saying everyone who handed in an application at the Swansea game would get a ticket. But it was a mistake and you surely don't think that merits not renewing next year?

On it's knees? What are you talking about? I'm talking about looking after your most loyal customers, a bit like every other business does. If you want to encourage newcomers, give them knock down priced tickets at Withdean which would otherwise remain empty - don't shit on your current customers.

Hang on a tick.

If your engineering company supplies panels for Ford capri's which is 90% of your income and someone comes along and says, can you supply me with 300 panels for a Rolls Royce, and by doing so you stop all production to the Capri owners club to satisfy this one customer who will probably never buy off you again as the panels are a bit shoddy. Would you be surprised if the Capri owners club suddenly said....actually, the contract we have with you is crap and we will buy 1 panel a time when needed.

How long do you recon you would stay in business?

we are living in the real world and whether you like it or not STH's are the life blood of this club

If you can't afford to be a STH that is one thing. But i'm talking about all the people threatening not to renew simply because the club didn't make sure they got a ticket ahead of other Albion fans.
