" Oh damn, I should of done. I'm sorry if it did offend people. "

It might have offended David Irving

No War is fun and i`m sure there are many out there that would disagree with the seemingless harmful pictures being posted. But what sort of level is acceptable, not the sort Lammy is posting.

Sorry mate, but 'war pictures' does not preclude the nasty result of actual war on actual people.
The cameraderie and boy's bravado should be tempered by the picture of a burned child without arms who has to face the rest of his life like that.

Much of London was badly burned in WWII blitz, and victims probably died or were maimed and scarred in the worst possible ways - trapped by rubble and slowly roasted, painfully impaled by shrapnel or falling metal and wood, lying there with guts hanging out wanting to die quicker.

It happened recently in Iraq and is probably still happening. We should not be glib or too jingo-istic about war. Watching hi-tech weapons zero-ing in on some other guy and his family members is all very comfortable - but the politics behind it should never be forgotten. The politicians are usually responsible for the child with no arms - but why shy from the points and pictures about modern warfare that are not 'nice' or 'boys-brigade'?

I thought Lammy was posting the pictures as a reality check to all the shiny big tanks and guns photos. If I am wrong he is a sick bastard ;)

I understand where you are coming from but I just felt that a picture of that magnitude was not right to post on a thread that should of been taken light heartedly, if it could so be. Maybe i`m being soft????????

Whatever point he was making he never made it clear with any text. Just popping a picture up makes him look sick in the head.:nono:

Attack on Russia on defending againgst Russian invasion?

The defending bit occurred in 1939-40 when the Russians did invade. The attacking bit happened when the Finns joined Germany with their invasion of Russia from 1941-44. You can argue that the Finns were rightfully regaining land taken away from them in 1940 but the fact that they continued well beyond those boundaries can negate this.

Sorry if this thread has caused so much offense, It was purely meant to be a "Boys Own" picture thread full of 'exciting' scenes of War time drama and 'awesome' weapons.
Jesus, everyone knows war Kills, that's why it's called WAR.
I didn't realise there were so many sensitive, sanctimonious folks out there!
I don't enjoy looking at pictures of mutilated Children, but alas some people were compelled to even the balance of my "Boys Own" series so fair enough.
I take it the same people will be picketing rememberance day celebrations, daubing paint over the Medal Of Honour games, booing as the Spitfires fly past during the Shoreham Air Show, spitting at the Veterans as they come out the British Legion, scrawling on the walls of the War Museum, arson attacks on the Tank Museum.
The same people that defaced the Staue of Churchill.
I expect we should push all these things away as they essentially glorify the War?
This is what I mean when I say War Pictures:

And in the spirit of the thread (before someone else chips in):
