Clearly gen z (or whatever they call it) and the You Tube generation will lap it up but as Tony Bellew says when he’s 68, hopefully if he makes it, Tyson will look at his resume, Berbick, Spinks, Holmes, Ruddock, Lewis, Douglas, Bruno, Holyfield and errr Jake Paul.

Have no desire to watch it, and only hope Paul doesn’t possess the wherewithal to seriously hurt Tyson?

Hopefully it will be the same non event as Mayweather vs McGregor was?

However if the viewing figures match up to the predictions whose going to be next on the gravy train?

But my philosophy on these stunts is to fold my arms, turn my back, and not give it oxygen. If everyone did the same who was against it and not curious about the spectacle, it would very quickly disappear.

Even ridiculing it (and it is just about as brazen a cash grab imaginable) gives it hype and advertising.

As a result this is the last I will comment on this absolute joke of an exhibition.

To answer the OP - i think that celebrity fights are here to stay for a while, but they'll become a lesser event over time. People will get bored of them.

I've no particular moral objection to boxing, clearly calling it noble is a nonsense, but if that's what people want to do then that's up to them. Having said that, fighting a 58 year old man does feel uncomfortable/exploitative to me.
