To be fair, the media are mainly reporting the opinion of employers who believe that standards are slipping (ignoring the fact that training budgets are often the first thing to be cut) The press do tend to cover all viewpoints.
What IS exasperating about the press coverage is that looking at the pictures of students getting their results you would think that only good-looking young women study for A Levels. It would be nice to think that there'd be acceptance that boys do A Levels too, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Not fair is it, the students can't win! There will be some sleepless nights tonight.

I got my acceptance letter to my first choice the day before exam results last year, jesus christ it made my day easier, and for those awaiting it tonight, I can do no more than offer the biggest bunch of good luck to you all, I really know exactly how you all feel, I was in the same position last year!
