Brighton / Hove actually
Iraq didn't let the UN inspect their nuclear research, and it wasn't clear what Iraq were and were not capable of. Western leaders were concerned about Iraq's weapons and also wanted to remove Saddam from power for other reasons. Iraq insiders provided 'proof' that they were developing WMDs, and IMO that was enough for Bush and Blair, whereas I believe they should have investigated the claims a lot more thoroughly, and found that they were completely false, by Iraqis that also wanted to remove Saddam. But it's my opinion that Bush and Blair believed (because they wanted to) the claims were true.

Hans Blix the UN weapons inspector would agree with you. But hey ho, why take any notice of the UN and democracy.

Anyone actually been over there to see for themselves what's happening?

in fairness most people i encountered last night seemed to be having great difficulty getting from London to Sussex.

i doubt a trip to Syria or Iraq and back at the moment would be advisable

Hopefully the ISIS murderer(s) committing these cowardly beheadings will be denied re-entry into the UK and will be tried and sentenced under local law.

How this is a debate is beyond me. People are getting slaughtered left, right and centre but yet we discuss it like it's politics.

People should now be realising, it's time to break away from all this war and politics and let's stop pretending it works too.

This is one big mess which won't sort itself out. The public need to do something.

Is he actually saying that?! What is an undoubted fact is that the Wests actions over the last century in the Middle East, and particularly in the last 30 or 40 years, both in its quest for oil and changing the geo-political landscape, whether through supplying weapons to unsavoury regimes, supporting Israel or corrupt and undemocratic Arab regimes and numerous other actions over the years has led to increased support for extreme Islamists such as IS on the back of a anti-imperialist message!!

oh yes , yes, couldn't agree more , and that is exactly why cutting peoples heads off and sticking them all over the gaff for photo shoots is a passable activity in the 21st century...........:clap2:

Wouldnt' that be nice. So, what exactly is the solution other than asking everyone to love their neighbour because, it would seem, they don't.

We need to start teaching people that violence doesn't stop violence.

At what point in history has dropping bombs on peoples heads ever worked?

The whole thing is ridiculous, you would need to be a complete moron to think this is peace keeping.

There are many native communities which lay the example. It doesn't take rocket science to work out a better way.

As I suspected, you haven't offered a solution.

As for bombing, thought it helped stop the Germans and, arguably, certainly stopped the Japanese in 1945.

Do you think the charity worker was directly attacking Isis?

You are confused.

Are you certain?

We are pretty much in WW3 now.

What exactly have the bombs stopped?

The plain fact that the videos are only released by and through the SITE group should set the alarm bells ringing.

Something on the bigger picture from the Global Research website

http://www.globalresearch.ca/going-a...-state/5401439

'Needless to say, US, NATO, Saudi and Qatari support and funding to the Islamic State will continue. The objective is not to destroy the Islamic State as promised by Obama. What we are dealing with is a US sponsored process of destabilizing and destroying both Iraq and Syria. The campaign against the Islamic State is being used as a justification to bomb both countries, largely targeting civilians.

The endgame is to destabilize Iraq as a nation state and trigger its partition into three separate entities.

The broader US-NATO strategic objective is to destabilize the entire Middle East- North Africa -Central Asia -South Asia region, including Iran, Pakistan and India.'

Not confused you stated "At what point in history has dropping bombs on peoples heads ever worked?".......i just asked "Did the charity worker drop any bombs on peoples heads.".......meaning that this poor fellow was trying to help the victims and was brutally killed.

So why have some other Arab countries who are threatened by ISIS planning to help out, i believe it includes Iran which is one of the countries you have mentioned that the West wants to destabilize......
