Any reason for Marc Leonard and Jensen Weir not being included in the Loans Out category?

For me, unless we think Matt Clarke is PL Ready TM we should sign a left sided CB and a LB/LWB too if Man City meet our asking price for Cucu. Other than that we are ready for the new season but…

Please extend Mac and Maupay’s contracts. Thank you.

Matt Clarke looked good to me on the Brentford match clip. Surprised Khadra has gone on a loan to buy if Sheff Utd get promoted. Clearly slipped behind the new boys.

Sarmiento & Enciso look to be very promising direct attackers in a mould we haven't seen for a while. If they can break into the side they could be revelations for our style and system.

I think we are a LB/LWB short of a complete squad unless Karbownik can facilitate that position. Then it's surely a like for like replacement if anybody else is sold

Leonard/Weir loans added.
Expect Karbownik loan to Fortuna Dusseldorf to be next and a loan for Scherpen also imminent.
Perhaps some progress on incoming...(Florian Grillitsch ?) is also in the works...

LB/LWB - the position that the right footed Karbownik des not want to play (he wants to play in midfield - and appears to be pretty stubborn about it)? Yes, when he first arrived we thought we were signing a LB - but we quickly learned that we weren't!
Suspect we're looking for a permanent move for him.

So with Cucurella looking very likely to go where does that leave the shopping list? A left back, a left sided centre back, and a defensive mid? Or does the Cucurella/Biss/Ostigard money now mean we can do a bit more? Or has pre-season shown us that some positions can be filled by the returning loanees? I assume whether we do or dont have £50m+ for Marc had a lot of impact on our spending, and so once that is resolved we'll see things speed up in terms on incomings.

Can’t see anyone else coming in this window.

Not a comprehensive list, but here goes.

So andone to go somewhere, probably turkiye.Maupay to Italy, possibly Trossard the same. Cucu to chelski, and Zeq back to Austria/ Switzerland, Moder out for the season. Colloney

We have brought in one wunderkind from South America who will need time to settle in and the Japanese laddie…..and Undav who is also untried at this level.

Interesting times

And your utter certainty that Albion won’t bring in further players to strengthen the squad , and will sell key players like Trossard is based on …what ?

PS: Moder is not out for the season, it’s a tough injury but you’ve added months to his likely recovery presumably to add to the gloom.

As I am retired now, it’s my Victor Meldrew persona.

One of my ex colleagues is a Roma fan living in Civitaveccia and he said that the word on the Appian Way is that Roma are preparing a bid for Tross!

I would be very surprise if we bring anyone else in especially for first team duty. Maybe to carry on with the buy low, sell high policy which pays for the directors salaries

Those directors salaries are nothing compared to what the players earn. Tony Bloom is trying to make the club sustainable, while finishing as high up the PL as possible, so the buy low, sell high mantra is here to stay, and doesn't seem to be doing us too badly at the moment. Or should he just carry on pumping £30 million plus a season to cover losses?

Here is a question for the more meticulous among you.

Karbownik and Enciso were both signed fairly shortly after turning 18. If the rule states that you are an HGP if you have been registered to an English club for three years before the end of the season that you turn 21, will both be classified as HGPs at that point?

I think you mean Kozlowski rather than Karbownik as he was already 19 when he signed for Brighton so will not be able to complete the 36 months before his 21st birthday (or the end of that season).

With Enciso and Kozlowski both have a chance of becoming HGP depending on what date the FA consider to be the end of the season.

Kozlowski should count as an HGP as he will turn 21 in October 2024 and by the end of that season (June or July 2025) will have been with us for 42 or 43 months.

Enciso is a bit difficult to work out as he joined us during the close season, so does he count as being signed last season or this season. He will turn 21 in January 2025, his 36 months will be completed in the summer of 2025, it just depends on which side of the end of the 2024-25 season they decide that falls.
