Thought it was more likely Clarke to Middlesbrough and van Hecke to Sunderland? A couple of grim destinations for them, though Newcastle's not too far away and the countryside is lovely.

Potter regularly had 2-3 u21 subs as part of the 9 (Ferguson, offiah, Roberts, Leonard) last year and likes (I think) working with a relatively small squad.

That's 23 that have to be named in the 25 man squad, plus Caicedo, Sarmiento, Enciso and Colwill are likely to play, so in numbers we've got plenty. Fine to have a youngster or two on the bench for experience and a possible cameo if we're four up (or four down!) - that's if we've got any U21s left after all the loans have been sorted!

Room for a couple of senior players in the 25 if we want. Squad looks fine as it is to me - but there's always room for improvement, so if a reasonably priced player who is an improvement on what we've got becomes available ...................

Had to remind myself earlier that Ferguson is only 17. So in terms of loans for him we can take our time. If there's a suitable loan then great, but another season of PL2 games, and Cup or bench appearances for the first team is no bad thing.
